Won't play vs. Houston Anderson (undisclosed) is set to miss Oklahoma's Week 2 clash with Houston, Matt Zenitz of 247Sports.com reports.

Impact Anderson was expected to return to the field sooner rather than later, but he'll miss at least one more game here as he won't suit up against the Cougars. Anderson was expected to be a huge part of the Sooners' passing attack, but he has yet to see the field in 2024. His next chance to play will come in Week 3 against Tulane.

Impact Anderson wasn't available for Oklahoma's Week 1 clash with Temple. The receiver has battled through an injury all offseason and it's carried over into the regular season. However, this is excellent news for the one of the Sooners' top wideouts and Oklahoma's offense as a whole. Anderson's timeline is still unclear, but based on Venables' comments, his return is imminent.

Impact Anderson's 10 targets were a career high as his previous high was just four targets against Cincinnati in Week 4 and Iowa State in Week 5. The redshirt freshman has eight touchdowns over the last five games despite receiving just 22 targets.
