Out for season with leg injury Matthews is out for the season with a lower-leg injury, Connor Morrissette of 247Sports.com reports.

Impact Matthews suffered a lower-leg injury in the Bruins' Week 2 win over San Diego State, and he'll now miss the rest of the season. The 5-foot-8 wide receiver will finish what would've been his senior campaign with four catches for 88 yards, but he'll likely take a medical redshirt to preserve eligibility.

Out for Week 3 Matthews (undisclosed) is out for Saturday's matchup versus Purdue.

Impact Matthews will not take the field for the Bruins on Saturday as an undisclosed injury has held him out. The wideout didn't record a stat in Week 2 but is aiming to become a reliable target for Nico Iamaleava. He will aim to recover in time for Week 4 against Maryland.

Logs 88 receiving yards in win Matthews tallied four catches for 88 yards during Saturday's 45-24 victory against California.

Impact Matthews was Nico Iamaleava's clear favorite target against Cal. The duo built a strong rapport last season, which led Matthews to stay with the program rather than switch to his fourth school in four years.

Impact UCLA's passing game took a positive turn once Luke Duncan stepped in for Nico Iamaleava, and Matthews was Duncan's favorite target. UCLA is Matthews' third team in three seasons after stints with Utah and Cal, and the disappointing team result may compel him to move again.

Finds end zone in narrow win Matthews hauled in all three targets for 31 yards and one touchdown during Saturday's 20-17 victory over Maryland.

Impact Matthews had only 13 receptions coming into Saturday's game, but the junior transfer finally found the end zone. Matthews is with his third program over three years after stints with Utah and Cal, and he's probably having some regret leaving the Bears after the resurgent season they are having. Nico Iamaleava's low passing volume will usually keep most UCLA receivers from attaining fantasy relevancy, and Matthews is no exception.

Impact Matthews will indeed get a crack at one of his old programs, Utah, on Friday night. The wide receiver is expected to be a big factor for the Bruins' passing game this season. Not a full participant Matthews (undisclosed) isn't wearing pads and is working off to the side in UCLA's Wednesday practice, per Benjamin Royer of the Orange County Register.

Impact Matthews is expected to play a significant role for UCLA, likely as a starting wideout for the Bruins. However, he's currently limited by an undisclosed injury, and while it's a good sign that he isn't held out of practice entirely, he doesn't appear to be cleared for contact. Last season at California, Matthews reeled in 32 catches for 272 yards and one touchdown.
