Eight touches in loss at Colorado
Mitchell posted seven rushes for 28 yards and reeled in his only target for five yards during Saturday's 49-24 loss versus Colorado.
Impact
Mitchell logged multiple touches for the first time since recording three carries against Arizona in Week 5. Starting RB Micah Bernard did get banged up early in the game, but played through the injury, so that could have been part of the reason Mitchell saw an uptick in touches. Utah will play Iowa State next week.

Limited against TCU
Mitchell (undisclosed) saw limited snaps during Saturday's 13-7 loss to TCU, failing to record a counting stat.
Impact
Mitchell returned to action for the first time since Utah's Week 5 matchup against Arizona, and though he recorded just three total snaps and was held without a counting stat on the day, it's encouraging to see his return to the field. The redshirt freshman running back was starting to get more opportunities through the first few games for the Utes this season prior to his injury, recording 37 carries for 127 yards and a touchdown through the team's first five games. Mitchell will hope to continue his recovery and work his way back into the offense in time for next week's matchup against Houston.

Impact
Mitchell was impressive on a season-high 14 carries at 5.4 yards per carry against Utah State. Teammate Micah Benard led the way with 17 carries for 123 yards and a touchdown. Making push, expected in committee
Mitchell is making a significant push for playing time and could be part of a by-committee approach during Utah's 2024 season, Jason Batacao of The Salt Lake Tribune reports.
Impact
Mitchell is a 6-foot, 211-pound running back expected to begin his collegiate career during 2024. Utah's competition at the position is currently considered a dead heat, which he has viewed as an opening. Because there remains no clear-cut No. 1 at running back, the Utes are considering a "by-committee approach" with Mitchell, Micah Bernard and Jaylon Glover. This is a relatively impressive spot for Mitchell to be in, considering he is not as highly experienced as Bernard and Glover are in FBS action.
