The redshirt freshman quarterback played in App State's bowl game loss to Georgia Southern, where he completed 12 of 22 passes for 128 yards and two interceptions and rushed 12 times for 110 yards with one touchdown. He'll have three years of eligibility to use up with Austin Peay.

According to his announcement Dec. 2, Wilson will shift gears to the NCAA's transfer portal for 2026, and he now has some in-game experience that can attract at least some suitors.
