Checks into portal Dent entered his name into the transfer portal Wednesday and is expected to leave Ole Miss, David Johnson of 247Sports.com reports.
Impact With incumbent starting signal-caller Jaxson Dart returning to Oxford for another year and with Ole Miss picking up a heralded Class of 2022 quarterback recruit in Walker Howard via transfer from LSU earlier this week, Dent was unlikely to enter the 2023 season any higher than third on the depth chart had he stuck around with the Rebels. As such, he'll explore his options elsewhere, though Dent will remain enrolled at Ole Miss for the spring semester and won't formally join his next program until the summer. Over his four years with the Ole Miss program, Dent completed five of nine pass attempts for 14 yards and carried four times for 37 yards.

Given the slew of incoming talent at the other offensive skill positions, grabbing hold of the quarterback job could prove to be very valuable from a fantasy standpoint.
