No. 2 BYU goes from hunter to hunted at UCF this weekend

Throws four touchdowns Saturday Jenkins was 30-for-42 passing for 265 yards, four touchdowns and one interception during Saturday's 42-28 loss against Oklahoma State. He also had 10 rushes for 13 yards.

Impact Jenkins made his fourth consecutive start Saturday and despite the loss, it was his best performance of the season. He threw four touchdown passes, three of which came in the first half, and helped his team have a fighting chance against the ranked Cowboys. He committed two turnovers though and he now has three interceptions and three lost fumbles across his fourth start. Alonza Barnett (hamstring) will take back over the offense once he's healthy, but Jenkins has proven himself to be a solid enough backup.

Barnett playing sufficiently the 2026 season's first two weeks has limited opportunities for Jenkins, who did not even attempt a pass in Week 2. For the Knights, Jenkins' lone production comes from Week 1, when he logged four completions for 42 yards and one touchdown against non-FBS team Bethune-Cookman.

He's unlikely to see much more playing time this year barring an injury to Alonza Barnett, but Thursday's game at least confirmed that Jenkins is the No. 2 quarterback on the roster.

Impact In terms of conferences, Jenkins' level will log a big jump from Conference USA to the Big 12. During 2025, as part of Florida International, he logged 164 completed passes for 1,742 yards and nine touchdowns. The quarterback also logged five rushing TDs. Considering that Central Florida signed Alonza Barnett, who excelled for playoff team James Madison, Jenkins being a backup QB is likely.

All in all, Jenkins had a solid season in 2025, totaling 1,874 yards, 14 touchdowns and six interceptions. The quarterback has one season of eligibility remaining.
