Transfers to Michigan State Smith is transferring to Michigan State, per Connor Earegood of The Detroit News.

Impact Smith will provide at extra depth at receiver for the Spartans after catching eight passes for 123 yards and two touchdowns in five games this past season while at Notre Dame. The 6-foot receiver has two years of eligibility remaining.

Impact Smith spent two seasons with Notre Dame. Between the multiple campaigns, he logged 11 receptions (on 14 targets) for 161 yards and two touchdowns. It is expected that Smith attracts top suitors.

Another TD this season Smith only has seven receptions this season, but two have been touchdowns including a 34-yard catch in the Irish 49-10 win over Navy on Saturday.

Impact Against Navy Smith only had two catches for 39 yards. The sophomore could be a name to watch for Notre Dame for next season. For this season there are just too many mouths to feed in the Irish passing game. Notre Dame takes on Pittsburgh on Saturday, Nov. 15. The Panthers defense is in the middle of the nation against the pass, but Pittsburgh has allowed two touchdowns per game against the pass.
