Wearing cast after breaking hand Helms suffered a broken hand and was spotted wearing a cast Wednesday while being a limited participant in practice, according to George Stoia of On3.com.

Impact The injury puts Helms' availability for the season opener against Illinois State on Aug. 30 in jeopardy. That said, he's buried in the depth chart, so he wasn't expected to have a sizable role on offense even if healthy in the first place.
