Better on ground than through air Pickles went 18-for-33 for 145 yards and an interception against MTSU on Saturday. He also ran 19 times for 77 yards and a touchdown.

Impact Pickles, a true freshman, was thrust into a start due to injury. Clearly, he, and the staff, trust his legs more than his arm. That makes sense given how Pickles looked here. He had a 16.6 QBR against one of the worst pass defense's in the FBS.

Starting Saturday Pickles will start Saturday against Middle Tennessee, Sam Guzman of KSTM 9 News reports.

Impact Pickles entered last week's game against Louisiana Tech in relief of Skyler Locklear, completing just two passes for one yard while running the ball 12 times for 53 yards. Pickles, a true freshman, will now get another look under center in his first collegiate start against a Middle Tennessee team ranked 123 nationally in scoring defense.

Sees first action Pickles replaced Skyler Locklear (undisclosed) against La Tech on Tuesday. He only attempted two passes, completing one for one yard, but he ran 12 times for 53 yards.

Impact Pickles is a true freshman, and it would seem he is comfortable doing one thing at the college level, and that's running the ball. If Locklear can't go next week, Pickles seems in line to get the start, and that will significant impact the passing game.
