Josh Manning News, Rumors, Updates - Kansas State Wildcats

Targets outweigh the box score Manning tallied one reception (on seven targets) for 19 yards during Saturday's 31-26 defeat against Cincinnati.

Impact Manning's stat line was not pretty, finishing with just one catch despite seeing seven targets. Rather than viewing this as a complete dud, fantasy managers should focus on the opportunity, especially with the Wildcats throwing 50 passes and potentially facing changes in the receiver rotation if Jaron Tibbs' injury lingers. Better days could be ahead if that level of involvement continues.

Takes a back seat in Week 3 Manning gathered in 0 of 1 targets for zero yards during Saturday's 31-20 victory against Tulane.

Impact Manning was barely involved against Tulane, drawing just one target as Jaron Tibbs became the focal point of the passing attack. It's too early to overreact to one game, especially in a Kansas State offense that doesn't throw enough to support multiple high-volume receivers every week. Still, the sudden shift in targets is something fantasy managers should monitor. For now, Manning remains a stash rather than a starter. If the target share rebounds in Big 12 play, he'll quickly regain fantasy relevance, but Week 3 was a clear step backward.

Enjoys breakout performance Manning gathered in 10 of 12 targets for 97 yards and one touchdown during Saturday's 34-7 win over Washington State.

Impact Manning turned in a breakout showing against Washington State while emerging as Avery Johnson's favorite target on the afternoon. The volume was impossible to ignore, and Manning clearly took a step forward in Kansas State's passing attack. Even so, fantasy managers should view this as the emergence of a legitimate contributor rather than definitive proof he has supplanted Jaron Tibbs as the Wildcats' top receiver long term.
