Rolls in blowout win
Marks compiled 13 carries for 103 yards and one touchdown during Saturday's 48-0 victory over Utah State. He also caught all three of his targets for 39 yards.
Impact
Marks found a much easier path to the end zone Week 2 even though he logged one fewer touchdown Saturday. The Mississippi State transfer scored a two-yard touchdown early in the second quarter. However, after commanding the bulk of carries Week 1 versus LSU, Marks split snaps with redshirt freshman Quinten Joyner, who tallied 10 carries for 84 yards and two scores. Joyner actually logged the first touchdown of the game with a nine-yard score late in the first quarter. Given that this was a matchup versus an inferior opponent for USC, it's unclear if the team will actually begin to work in Joyner alongside Marks more moving forward. The best measuring stick for this potential split will come when the Trojans next play in their Big Ten-opener versus Michigan on Saturday, Sept. 21.

Scores twice in USC debut
Marks posted 16 rushes for 68 yards and two touchdowns and caught all three targets for seven yards during Sunday's 27-20 victory versus LSU.
Impact
Marks provided the Trojans with the physical, tone-setting rushing threat that the team was looking for in the transfer portal this offseason. The fifth-year senior from Mississippi State scored a two-yard touchdown for the first score of the game, and he secured the win with a 13-yard scamper through multiple arm tackles with just over five seconds remaining. It's also encouraging that, while Marks didn't run behind perfect blocking all night, the Trojans' offensive line fared relatively well creating holes in the rushing game. He also logged 12 more carries than RB2 Quinten Joyner. Marks looks primed to shoulder much of the rushing load in what should be another explosive offense for USC this season.

Named starter for Sunday
Marks is starting Sunday's opener at LSU.
Impact
After transferring to the program in the offseason, Marks will begin the season as the starting running back. He's coming off three straight seasons where he received at least 100 carries at Mississippi State and proved to be important in the passing game, catching 214 passes over his four years with the Bulldogs.

Expected to enter the portal
Marks is expected to depart from Mississippi State, Matt Zenitz of 247Sports.com reports.
Impact
Marks is expected to seek out opportunities in the transfer portal following four seasons with Mississippi State. The 5-foot-10 senior tallied 410 carries during his time with the Bulldogs, totaling 1.883 rushing yards and 22 rushing touchdowns. His true impact was felt in the passing game, as Marks hauled in 214 receptions for 1,225 receiving yards and five touchdowns. The senior running back is sure to draw the attention of numerous top-end programs in the portal this offseason.

Pedestrian stat line in loss
Marks had 12 carries for 39 yards during Thursday's 17-7 defeat to Mississippi.
Impact
Marks also caught four passes for 14 yards out of the backfield. Marks finishes a disappointing senior season with just 573 rushing yards and four touchdowns. He also did not have nearly as big of an impact in the passing game as in prior years, managing career lows of 23 receptions and 167 receiving yards.

Rushes 12 times, catches TD
Marks (undisclosed) registered 12 carries for 34 catches and also had one catch for 15 yards and a score in Saturday's win over Southern Miss.
Impact
Marks had to split touches with Jeffery Pittman, who finished with 10 carries for 98 yards and a touchdown, but Marks remains the top dog in the backcourt for the Bulldogs. Marks will head into the Egg Bowl against Ole Miss having racked up 534 yards and four touchdowns across 109 carries, as well as 19 catches for 153 yards and two scores, in eight games.

Won't play Saturday
Marks (undisclosed) didn't suit up for Saturday's matchup with Auburn, per Justin Frommer of 247Sports.
Impact
Marks was dealing with a leg injury last week but ultimately saw 17 carries and scored Mississippi State's lone touchdown in a win over Arkansas. It's unclear if it's the same injury that's keeping Marks out vs. Auburn, though Seth Davis will see an expanded role in the senior running back's absence.

ROTOWIRE
Scores lone touchdown of game
Marks (leg) totaled 17 carries for 42 yards and caught his only target for two yards and one touchdown during Saturday's 7-3 win against Arkansas.
Impact
Marks provided the only scoring for the Bulldogs, and the only touchdown for either team in this low-scoring slog. Marks is averaging 5.2 yards per tote in 2023, though has been much less involved in the passing game than anticipated. He caught 60 passes as a freshman, then 83 as a sophomore. Marks has just 18 receptions as a senior this season. He will look to continue to find some momentum at Auburn next weekend.

Dressed for warmups
Marks (leg) is dressed for warmups prior to Saturday's game against Arkansas, per Jackson Fuller of the Southwest Times Record.
Impact
Marks suffered a leg injury in Mississippi State's previous game against Western Michigan, though it appears that the senior running back is trending towards suiting up vs. Arkansas. Marks has 80 rushes for 458 yards and four touchdowns through six games this season. If he's limited at all Saturday, freshman Seth Davis would see an expanded role.

27 touches in win
Marks rushed 16 times for 52 yards and a touchdown Saturday against Arkansas, while also catching 11 passes for 80 yards in the 40-17 win.
Impact
Marks has scored in four of five games this season, though the staggering 27 touches was by far his highest total of the season. Marks and Dillon Johnson continue to split touches in this high-powered offense, and both should receive double-digit touches at BYU next weekend.

Warming up Saturday
Marks (lower leg) is warming up ahead of Saturday's game against Texas A&M, Stefan Krajisnik of The Jackson Clarion-Ledger reports.
Impact
Marks missed last week's game against Bowling Green due to a lower-leg injury, but he looked good in practice this week and will be back in action against the Aggies. Over his first three appearances of the season, he's rushed 29 times for 139 yards and four touchdowns while securing eight of 10 targets for 40 yards.

Should play against Texas A&M
Marks was described as "good and ready to go" by running backs coach Jason Washington, per Stefan Krajisnik of The Jackson Clarion-Ledger.
Impact
Marks has reportedly looked great in practice this week, and shouldn't be limited when the Bulldogs play host to Texas A&M. Mississippi State loves to use the running back - he's caught a pass and scored a touchdown in every game he's played in this year.

ROTOWIRE
Out against Bowling Green
Marks (lower leg) will not play Saturday against Bowling Green, Stefan Krajisnik of The Jackson Clarion-Ledger reports.
Impact
Marks' absence Saturday leaves Mississippi State shorthanded in the backfield as only Dillon Johnson is the only other Bulldog back with more than 10 carries this season. Look for Johnson to see an increased role and reserves like Simeon Price could see more work as well.

Finds end zone in loss
Marks rushed nine times for 50 yards and a touchdown at LSU on Saturday.
Impact
