Taking year off, entering portal Odom announced he is taking the upcoming 2024 season off due to knee and concussion problems, and he'll also enter the transfer portal, Pete Nakos of On3.com reports.

Impact Odom attributed the reason he'll sit out this season to 2022 when he injured his knee and suffered a concussion. The 6-foot-6 tight end finished out his three-season tenure at Florida with 16 receptions for 144 yards and two touchdowns. He transferred to Eastern Michigan back in December but will instead search for a new team ahead of the 2025 season.

Entering transfer portal Odom will enter the NCAA's transfer portal, according to his announcement Sunday.

Impact Odom was not much of a key option with Florida. He logged seven receptions for 69 yards and two touchdowns in 2022. While the tight end logged more receiving yards in 2023, he did so barely and failed to record any touchdowns. With two seasons of eligibility remaining, Odom will look to enroll at a school whose program could give him better opportunities.

Impact Odom appeared in one game his freshman season, and is currently listed behind Keon Zipperer, Dante Zanders and Nick Elksnis. The 6-foot-5 tight end is only a sophomore, giving him plenty of time to earn better playing time if does not receive much of an offensive role this season.
