Steady in relief role Williams was 5-for-7 passing for 55 yards and one interception during Saturday's 42-26 victory versus San Jose State.

Impact Williams took over for Jayden Maiava once the game was well in hand, and posted an accurate total despite throwing a pick. Sam Huard (undisclosed) was unavailable, and he's excpected to be the backup quarterback once he is healthy. With three weeks of inferior oppoinents coming up, the freshman may get a few more opportunities to show his stuff.
