J'Koby Williams News, Rumors, Updates - Texas Tech Red Raiders | FOX Sports

Led the way against Colorado Williams tallied 17 carries for 88 yards and caught all three targets for 26 yards during Saturday's 29-7 victory against Colorado.

Impact Williams paced the Texas Tech backfield against Colorado, handling the most consistent workload even in a game where the Red Raiders' defense controlled the outcome. The offense didn't need to push the tempo after forcing four turnovers, but Williams remains a safe bet for touches in a backfield that continues to feature multiple contributors.

Stays involved against Sam Houston Williams compiled six carries for 36 yards and reeled in all three targets for 24 yards during Saturday's 49-14 victory versus Sam Houston State.

Impact Williams remained part of Texas Tech's rushing rotation and contributed with a key kickoff return that helped set up a second-half touchdown. However, with Cameron Dickey handling the scoring opportunities and making more of his touches, Williams' fantasy value remains tied to big plays and secondary usage.

SEPTEMBER 27 • ROTOWIRE

Brings the explosive element to backfield Williams had seven carries for 62 yards and one touchdown and hauled in all three targets for 14 yards during Friday's 28-26 win against Houston.

Impact Williams changed the game against Houston with a 29-yard touchdown run to open the second half, helping swing momentum back toward Texas Tech in a crucial conference victory. For fantasy managers, that play was another reminder that Williams may be the most dangerous home-run threat in the Red Raiders' rushing attack. While Cameron Dickey has carved out a short-yardage role, Williams has emerged as the back most capable of producing chunk plays and long touchdowns. Going forward, Williams offers the higher ceiling of the two Texas Tech backs. Fantasy managers should expect some week-to-week volatility because of the committee approach, but the explosive-play profile makes him particularly intriguing in deeper leagues.

Impact Williams received a team-high 20 carries and ripped off a game-changing 38-yard scoring run in the second half. After another productive outing, Williams is making a strong case to be viewed as Texas Tech's top fantasy back. While the Red Raiders continue to use multiple runners, Williams has been the more explosive and statistically productive option through two games. He appears to be trending toward lead-back status and should be rising up fantasy rankings.

Impact Williams helped set the tone early for Texas Tech, scoring on a five-yard TD run as part of a balanced offensive attack. He led the Red Raiders with 71 rushing yards on 13 carries and looked comfortable operating as one of the primary options in the backfield. The combination of volume and passing game usage makes Williams one of the more attractive fantasy options in this committee. He should remain firmly in flex consideration heading into next week.

Continues to stand out Williams stood out in Monday's practice due to his receiving ability, according to Lane Selph of On3.com.

Impact Williams has been getting some work at slot receiver to begin Texas Tech's fall camp, and his showing Monday backed that up. Williams looked extremely comfortable operating in space and created separation during his reps, including one in which he had All-Big 12 linebacker Ben Roberts fooled on the route. Expect Williams to see plenty of work as a receiver regardless of whether he has a big role out of the backfield.

Working as slot receiver Williams has been practicing at slot receiver to begin Texas Tech's fall camp, per Jarret Johnson of 247Sports.com.

Impact This is an interesting development for Williams as he was one of the Red Raider's lead backs last season. He has taken reps at wide receiver during fall camp as Texas Tech seeks ways to utilize its deep running back unit. While Williams will continue to see work in the backfield, the coaching staff could potentially plan to leverage his versatility by using him as a target in the passing game. Last season he hauled in 35 receptions for 388 yards and two touchdowns.

One of better QF performers Williams posted 13 carries for 81 yards during Thursday's 23-0 loss to Oregon.

Impact Despite the fact that Texas Tech scored zero points against Oregon, Williams was a bright spot, falling just two short of 100 all-purpose yards Thursday. During his 2025 season, he logged 155 rushing attempts for 868 yards and six touchdowns. As a receiver, Williams logged 35 receptions (on 38 targets) for 388 receiving yards and two TDs, overall excellence that ensures he would be a top option if his junior year is used during 2026.

Records 15 carries for 80 yards Williams notched 15 rushes for 80 yards and gathered in 1 of 2 targets for negative two yards during Saturday's 34-7 win against Brigham Young.

Impact Four of Williams' last five games include double-digit carries. For 2025, 80 is the running back's third-most rushing yards. Williams logged more than Dickey, but he recorded Texas Tech's most carries and a touchdown. Though the former remains TTU's secondary RB, he is still a formidable force who can make some noise in postseason action.

Impact Williams logged his sixth rushing score of the season for the Red Raiders. He also has two touchdown receptions for eight total scores in 12 games. He's been a consistent back behind Cameron Dickey on the depth chart and has double-digit touches in eight different games this year. He and Dickey will look to continue their successful impact when the team plays BYU in the Big 12 Title game.

Williams has capitalized on his role in the passing game with at least two catches in each of last four games. While Cameron Dickey has excelled in the primary running back, Williams is the best pass-catching back with 27 catches (on 32 targets) for 362 yards and two touchdowns. Texas Tech is on a bye next week before playing at West Virginia to close out the regular season.

NOVEMBER 16, 2025 • ROTOWIRE

Totals 109 yards against BYU Williams tallied 13 rushes for 77 yards and gathered in 2 of 4 targets for 32 yards during Saturday's 29-7 win over Brigham Young.

Impact Williams totaled over 100 yards for the second straight game. Although teammate Cameron Dickey is the primary runner out of the backfield, Williams has carved out a significant role in this offense. It was clear against BYU that the run-game was the primary form of attack for the Red Raiders. With 600 yards rushing and 333 yards receiving this year, Williams will have a shot at going over 1,000 yards from scrimmage next week. Texas Tech will host Central Florida next week.

NOVEMBER 9, 2025 • ROTOWIRE

Season-high 135 rushing yards Williams accrued 17 rushes for 135 yards and one touchdown and reeled in both of his targets for five yards during Saturday's 43-20 win versus Kansas State.

Impact Williams' 135 yards were a season high as he eclipsed the century mark on the ground for the second time this year. Williams now has a touchdown in two straight games despite sharing the backfield with Cameron Dickey. With QB Behren Morton returning from an injury this last week, it's possible Texas Tech leans much heavier on their impressive run-game. Texas Tech has a huge match-up against BYU next week.
