Planning for draft Sims is planning for the 2026 NFL Draft, Blake Niemann of FOX 10 Phoenix reports.

Impact Sims began playing college football in the pandemic-shortened 2020 season with Georgia Tech, and during each of his three years enrolled there, he logged at least 1,000 passing yards. After a disappointing 2023 with Nebraska, the quarterback transferred to Arizona State. In two seasons with ASU, he logged 118 completions for 1,429 yards and 10 touchdowns. Sims also recorded five rushing TDs.

Struggles in rivalry loss Sims completed 11 of 25 passes for 114 yards and three interceptions during Friday's 23-7 loss to Arizona. He also had 10 rushes for 43 yards with one touchdown.

Impact Sims had a rough performance in Friday's rivalry game as he turned the ball over four times versus the Wildcats, the same amount he had over his previous three starts this season. He completed under 50 percent of his passes in his second straight game and he only threw for 114 yards. He scored his team's only touchdown with a 27-yard scamper in the second quarter, but it was not near enough to get close to a win. He will likely start the Sun Devils' bowl game in what will be his final collegiate game.

Impact After two straight excellent performances, Sims came back down to earth in Saturday's win. Although he threw two touchdowns, he turned the ball over twice and completed fewer than 50 percent of his passes versus a struggling Colorado defense. Also, after rushing 46 times for 309 yards and two touchdowns over the last two games, he rushed for a measly 12 yards on eight carries versus the Buffaloes. He will look to bounce back Friday versus Arizona in the regular season finale.

He also scored two rushing touchdowns, including an 88-yard run in the third quarter. He has not really shown this much of an ability to run yet in his long collegiate career, so this performance was extremely surprising.
