Declares for 2025 NFL Draft Lane has declared for the 2025 NFL Draft and won't play in the Duke's Mayo Bowl against Minnesota on Jan. 3, Andy Bitter of Tech Sidelines reports.

Impact Lane is among several Hokies who won't play in the bowl game, according to head coach Brent Pry. Lane finished the 2024 season with 38 catches for 466 yards and two touchdowns across 12 appearances.

Impact Lane remained a consistently involved receiver with five targets against the Hurricanes. He scored his second touchdown of the year on a 20-yard carry, only the third handoff he's taken all year. With a rather lukewarm Virginia Tech passing attack led by quarterback Kyron Drones, don't expect Lane to stuff the stat sheet with any sort of consistency.

If he keeps seeing those kinds of targets, he's bound to have a breakthrough performance. His four catches led the Hokies on Saturday.
