Entering transfer portal Stratton plans to enter the NCAA transfer portal, per On3.com.

Impact Stratton will enter the portal following two seasons with Iowa. The 6-foot-4 signal caller did not appear in a game for the Hawkeyes in 2025 due to being buried on the depth chart and will hope to get a fresh start elsewhere. He will retain a single year of eligibility at his next destination.

Tosses touchdown in win Stratton was 8-for-15 passing for 115 yards and one touchdown during Friday's 13-10 win over Nebraska.

Impact Stratton connected with running back Kaleb Johnson on a 72-yard touchdown pass in the fourth quarter, tying the game at 10 and setting up the game-winning field goal. The sophomore quarterback has done what the team needed since being named the starter, throwing for 219 yards and a single touchdown without committing a turnover. Stratton's next opportunity will come in Iowa's upcoming bowl game.

Impact With Cade McNamara issuing a statement on Instagram disclosing that he is has yet to recover from a concussion suffered against Northwestern in Week 9, per Tyler Tachman of the Des Moines Register, Stratton, the named backup, appears in line to start. The 6-foot-4 sophomore threw for 28 yards (3-of-6) in his lone appearance against UCLA this season, adding on one carry for 14 yards.

Could start Saturday Stratton could start for Iowa on Saturday, Chad Leistikow of the Des Moines Register reports.

Impact Brendan Sullivan is out for the remainder of the regular season at least, and Cade McNamara isn't yet at full capacity health-wise. Thus, Stratton could be in line to start. In fact, head coach Kirk Ferentz told reporters that if Iowa had to play today, Stratton would be the starting signal caller. There's still plenty of time for McNamara to get healthy, and he would presumably be the starter in that case. Still, there's a real possibility Stratton could play against the Terps.

Impact Stratton filled in for fellow quarterback Brendan Sullivan after the starter suffered an ankle sprain in the third quarter. The junior quarterback completed three of six passes for 28 yards, adding 14 yards on the ground as well. The severity of Sullivan's injury is thus far unknown, though Stratton would be forced to fill in once again should the starter miss extended time. A road matchup against Maryland awaits following this week's bye.
