Committing to South Dakota State Garcia-Castaneda announced his committment to play for South Dakota State for the 2025 season via his X account Sunday.

Impact Garcia-Castaneda will join the Jackrabbits following three seasons with Nebraska. The 6-foot-1 receiver recorded just a single catch for 10 yards with the Cornhuskers in 2024. He will retain a single year of eligibility with South Dakota State.

Impact Garcia-Castaneda spent three seasons with Nebraska but failed to make an impact in Lincoln, catching seven passes for 137 yards. His best season came as true freshman with New Mexico State in 2021, where he reeled in 37 catches for 578 yards and four scores. He'll look to get back to that kind of production at his next program.

Impact Garcia-Castaneda originally publicized his intention to leave Nebraska back on Oct. 11, after he had previously committed to the program from New Mexico State prior to the start of this past season. However, he's since had a change of heart and is now slated to rejoin the Cornhuskers this fall. The 185-pound wide receiver caught four passes for 120 yards and a touchdown in Nebraska's season opener, but he proceeded to record just one reception for no gain across his next four game appearances.
