Impact Belin was previously limited in practice due to a shoulder injury, but reportedly looked very comfortable participating in the team's msot recent scrimmage. The 6-foot-3 senior transferred in from Duke in the offseason hoping to earn the starting gig with Missouri State, but was recently announced to be competing for the primary backup role behind fellow signal caller Skyler Locklear.

Impact Belin spent the past four years as a backup at Duke, but he was battling Locklear for the Bears' QB1 gig this offseason. However, he dealt with a shoulder ailment this offseason which limited his ability to participate. Now, he'll enter the season as the Bears' backup.

Impact As expected, Belin has enrolled at Missouri State and is at the Bears' fall camp, which is officially underway. Belin, who has been competing with Skyler Locklear for the Bears' starting quarterback position, was limited because of recurring shoulder soreness, something that was a prevalent problem during his time with Duke. Fortunately for Belin, the competition is still very much alive, but he has reduced time to showcase his talents before the 2026 Bears begin their regular season Sept. 5 at Texas A&M. If he cannot shape up well before then, it looks like Locklear has the starting position locked up.

Impact Belin spent four years at Duke, In 2025, he hardly saw the field, completing 2-of-5 passes for 22 yards, adding 41 rushing yards as well. He's totaled 540 passing yards, five touchdowns and two interceptions in his career, and will now take his talents to Missouri State with one season of eligibility remaining.

Impact After four seasons for Duke, Belin will consider transferring colleges to log a fresh start. While part of the Blue Devils, he was never their primary quarterback, so a move down from Power Conference football would not be surprising from him.

Impact Before the bowl game, Belin's 2024 season was limited to a single pass. That was to accommodate Maalik Murphy, the 2024 Blue Devils' primary quarterback before he went portaling and announced his 2025 commitment for Oregon State. Belin was given an opportunity to attempt all the passes he wanted, which yielded a decent result. It appears unlikely the performance will gift him Duke's QB1 role though, as that will likely go to Darian Mensah.
