Joining up with Utah Simmons announced Sunday that he will transfer to Utah.

Impact Simmons will head to his third program in as many years after parting ways from Indiana in early January. The fifth-year wideout saw very minimal playing time over the first three seasons of his career with North Carolina, but he enjoyed career highs in receptions (37), yards (408) and targets (62) during his lone campaign in the Hoosiers' haphazard offense last season. Simmons figures to compete for a starting role alongside returning Utah receivers Devaughn Vele and Jaylen Dixon heading into the 2023 campaign.

Hits transfer portal Simmons entered the transfer portal Monday, 247Sports.com reports.

Impact Simmons transferred from North Carolina to Indiana prior to the 2022-23 campaign, where he eventually caught 37 passes for 408 yards and one score across 11 games played this past season while operating as the Hoosiers' No. 2 wide receiver. The graduate transfer will now look for opportunities elsewhere to pursue his final year of collegiate eligibility.

Steps up for banged-up Hoosiers Simmons caught seven of his 10 targets for 57 yards in Saturday's 31-10 loss to Michigan.

Impact Simmons once again served as one of the Hoosiers' top two wideouts with starter D.J. Matthews (hamstring) out for the second week in a row. The usual No. 3 wideout has now attracted double-digit targets in each of the last two games, notching 13 receptions (on 21 targets) for 114 yards and a touchdown over this span. Simmons could continue to serve a prominent pass-catching role alongside Cam Camper if Matthews and Javon Swinton (undisclosed) remain sidelined in Week 7 against Maryland.

Tops receiving corps in loss Simmons caught six of his 11 targets for 57 yards and a touchdown during Saturday's 35-21 loss to Nebraska.

Impact Simmons served as the top target for quarterback Connor Bazelak (22-of-44 passing, 223 yards, 1:1 TD:INT) with top receivers Cam Camper (illness) and D.J. Matthews (undisclosed) both sidelined in Week 5. The North Carolina transfer also registered career-highs in receptions and targets against the Cornhuskers' mediocre pass defense.
