GAME LOG

Struggles against ND Brown was 18-for-37 passing for 204 yards, one touchdown and one interception during Saturday's 49-20 loss against Notre Dame.
Impact Stanford was put into a big hole early, and Brown couldn't do much to drag the team out of it. He'll end the season having made three starts and six total appearances. As a starter, he went 55-for-96 for 611 yards and a 3:2 TD:INT. A redshirt freshman, Brown likely didn't do enough to convince Stanford he's a long-term quarterback option.

Quiet against Cal Brown completed 10 of 20 passes for 123 yards and one touchdown during Saturday's 31-10 win against California.
Impact Stanford leaned heavily on the run game Saturday, leaving just 20 passing attempts for Brown. The redshirt freshman completed 50 percent of the attempts but didn't turn the ball over. In two starts this season, Brown has thrown for 407 yards with a 2:1 TD:INT.

Nears 300 yards in start Brown completed 27 of 39 passes for 284 yards, one touchdown and one interception during Saturday's 20-15 loss against North Carolina. He also had nine rushes for -73 yards.
Impact Brown, in his first outing since being named the starting quarterback, completed nearly 70 percent of his passes and came close to hitting the 300-yard milestone. However, the second-year signal caller turned the ball over twice, once on an interception and once via fumble. Additionally, Brown took nine sacks, which resulted in an awful negative 73 rushing yards.

NOVEMBER 6 • PRESSDEMOCRAT.COM
Named starting quarterback Interim head coach Frank Reich said Monday that Brown will be Stanford's starting quarterback going forward, Rivals.com reports.
Impact Brown will officially take the reins of the Cardinal offense ahead of Week 11 after a string of poor performances from the previous starter, Ben Gulbranson. Brown has appeared off the bench in three straight games, combining to complete 19 of 31 passes for 218 yards and a touchdown. The redshirt freshman likely won't provide much, if any, rushing production.
NOVEMBER 3 • ROTOWIRE
Quiet in relief Brown completed 10 of 14 passes for 108 yards and one touchdown during Saturday's 35-20 loss to Pittsburgh.
Impact Brown replaced Ben Gulbranson late in the third quarter after Gulbranson threw a third interception. However, Brown didn't fare much better. He didn't pick up a first down on any of his first four drives before leading an 11-play, 97-yard touchdown drive in the final minutes of the fourth quarter. Though Brown hasn't exactly made the most of his opportunities, it wouldn't be a shock if Stanford considers making a QB change.

Sees blowout run Brown completed 3 of 5 passes for 39 yards during Saturday's 42-7 defeat against Miami (FL).
Impact Brown entered the game for Stanford's final two drives in a 28-point game. It's the second straight game the redshirt freshman has played in, after an in-game injury to Ben Gulbranson in Week 8 allowed Brown to play the entire second half against Florida State. Gulbranson was available Saturday but went 9-for-21 for 50 yards, a touchdown and two INTs. While there hasn't been any indication that a quarterback change is imminent, given Gulbranson's struggles, it wouldn't be surprising to see the Cardinal give Brown a chance.

Pushed into starting role Brown was 6-for-12 passing for 71 yards during Saturday's 20-13 victory against Florida State.
Impact Brown wound up playing the entire second half after starter Ben Gulbranson went down with a knee injury. Brown, a redshirt freshman, lost the starting QB battle to Gulbranson in camp. He completed merely 50 percent of his passes and didn't score a touchdown Saturday, as Stanford leaned heavily on the run.

Loses out on starting gig Brown lost out on Stanford's starting quarterback gig to Ben Gulbranson, per ESPN.
Impact Brown had a rocky season with Stanford last fall, tossing for 274 yards, two touchdowns and three interceptions while completing 58.3 percent of his passes. He was in competition with Gulbranson this offseason, but he's lost out to the Oregon State transfer who tossed for 943 yards and four scores in four games for the Beavers last fall. Brown figures to be the primary backup in Palo Alto.

Gets start, still takes backseat Brown was 5-for-9 passing for 24 yards and one interception during Saturday's 27-24 loss to Wake Forest.
Impact Brown officially got the start for Stanford, but still played second-fiddle to Ashton Daniels. After Brown started the game with two fruitless drives, including an interception, Stanford elected to go back to Daniels under center. The freshman has clearly inspired some confidence from his coaching staff, but Daniels proved he was a better option against the Demon Deacons.
OCTOBER 29, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Struggles in place of Daniels Brown completed 16 of 32 passes for 153 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions during Saturday's 40-10 defeat to Southern Methodist. He also had 12 rushes for -10 yards.
Impact Brown took over for Ashton Daniels after several drives, and didn't have an easier time than the former starting quarterback igniting this Stanford offense. He completed just 50 percent of his passes, and turned the ball over twice. Stanford has a legitimate quarterback issue at this point, and neither Brown, Daniels or Justin Lamson have proven to be the solution.
OCTOBER 21, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Good showing in mop-up duty Brown completed 7 of 7 passes for 97 yards and one touchdown during Saturday's 41-7 victory against Cal Poly.
Impact Brown looked excellent in his brief mop-up duty after Stanford had clearly put the game away against Cal Poly. The true freshman looks like he may have asserted himself as the Cardinal's backup option, especially after a rather perfect debut. Ashton Daniels will still dominate the reps, but Brown looks like he's the heir apparent in Palo Alto.
SEPTEMBER 8, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Listed as co-starter Brown is listed as a co-starter for Friday's opener versus TCU.
Impact Brown is listed alongside Ashton Daniels and Justin Larson as a co-starter to open up the season. While it's unlikely he ends up starting, it's certainly a positive sign for him that he is even in the conversation with Daniels and Larson who served as last seasons No. 1 and No. 2, respectively. Given his current place on the depth chart, it's not out of the question that he could serve as the backup quarterback as a true freshman.
