GAME LOG

Limited snaps as backup Coleman completed 0 of two passes for zero yards during Saturday's 24-7 win versus Charlotte. He also had seven rushes for 22 yards.
Impact Coleman backed up Cale Hellums once again this week, only throwing twice to go along with seven rushing attempts. Hellums has been playing well, also, so it would be pretty surprising if anything changes with Coleman's workload.

Not starting Saturday Coleman will not start Saturday's game versus Charlotte, Pete Thamel of ESPN.com reports.
Impact Coleman has been benched for Saturday's game with Cale Hellums stepping in at the helm of the Black Knights' offense. Hellums has played in every game this season so it's very possible Coleman still plays some snaps, but Hellums will now be leading the team on offense.
OCTOBER 11 • ROTOWIRE
Limited workload in win Coleman completed 1 of 1 passes for seven yards during Saturday's 31-13 win over UAB. He also had eight rushes for six yards.
Impact After a heavy workload a week ago against East Carolina, rushing the ball 22 times and throwing it nine times, Coleman didn't have much of a role this week. The senior got a lot fewer snaps than Cale Hellums, and it remains a mystery who the starter will be going forward, as Coleman may still be dealing with the undisclosed injury that sidelined him early in the year.
OCTOBER 5 • ROTOWIRE
Rushing touchdown in loss Coleman was five of nine passing for 36 yards during Thursday's 28-6 defeat against East Carolina. He also had 22 rushes for 51 yards with one touchdown.
Impact Coleman earned the starting role back this week after being benched with an undisclosed injury following Week 1. The senior struggled to get anything going against East Carolina, only throwing for 36 yards and averaging 2.3 yards per carry. He has had a rushing touchdown in all three games he has appeared in.

Katin Houser throws for 2 touchdowns and runs for another to lead East Carolina past Army 28-6

Katin Houser passed for 251 yards and two touchdowns, and East Carolina opened American Conference play with a 28-6 victory over defending league champion Army

Named starter for Thursday's game Coleman will start Thursday's game at East Carolina, Pete Thamel of ESPN.com reports.
Impact Coleman, who began the season as a starter but was benched after an undisclosed injury, will be back at the helm of the Black Knights' offense Thursday. Across two appearances this season he has 230 passing yards and two touchdowns, adding 217 yards and two scores on the ground.
SEPTEMBER 25 • ROTOWIRE
Three touchdowns in return Coleman (undisclosed) was six of 11 passing for 101 yards and two touchdowns during Saturday's 45-38 overtime defeat to North Texas. He also had 23 rushes for 117 yards with one to...
Impact Coleman backed up Cale Hellums Saturday in his first appearance since Week 1, but got the majority of snaps, tallying three total touchdowns. The senior recorded his first passing touchdown since last September, and it will be interesting to see how Army manages the quarterback situation moving forward.

Hawkins runs for 4 TDs including game-winner and North Texas survives Army's big rally for 45-38 win

Caleb Hawkins rushed for four touchdowns, including the game-winner in overtime, as North Texas beat Army 45-38 in an American Conference opener

Not starting Saturday Coleman (undisclosed) is not starting Saturday's game versus North Texas, Brett Vito of the Denton Record-Chronicle reports.
Impact Coleman will be the backup quarterback again Saturday with Cale Hellums pulling his second straight start. This change started with Coleman's undisclosed injury, but he has now been available and not starting in two straight weeks so Hellums may have simply earned the starting job.
SEPTEMBER 20 • ROTOWIRE
Ruled questionable Coleman (undisclosed) is listed as questionable for Army's tilt with North Texas.
Impact Coleman didn't get the start in Week 2 but was available as Army toppled Kansas State. Cale Hellums played in the upset win instead, and played rather well, tossing for one touchdown and completing 7-of-11 passes. Hellums appears likely to get the start again regardless of Coleman's status.

Not starting but available Coleman (undisclosed) isn't starting for Army but figures to be available should the Black Knights need him, per Wyatt D. Wheeler of USA Today.
Impact Coleman was seen dressed and warming up, and indeed, the star quarterback will be available for the Black Knights. However, he won't get the start -- that honor will go to his backup Cael Hellums. This is a big loss for Army, but Coleman's injury doesn't seem all that serious if he's indeed available in an emergency capacity.
SEPTEMBER 6 • ROTOWIRE
On field for warm-ups Coleman (undisclosed) is on the field for Army's warm-ups ahead of the Week 2 clash with Kansas State, per Army Football sideline reporter Tony Morino.
Impact Coleman was expected to play, so it's unsurprising to see him suited up on the field ahead of the Black Knights' clash with Kansas State. Coleman racked up 229 total yards and a score in the opening loss to Tarleton State.

Expected to play vs. K-State Coleman (undisclosed) is expected to play in Week 2 versus Kansas State, per Wyatt D. Wheeler of The Topeka Capital-Journal.
Impact Coleman left Army's upset loss to Tarleton State with an injury and didn't return. However, he's expected to be able to suit up Saturday night against Kansas State. "He obviously had to come out of the game, and we're treating it," Black Knights head coach Jeff Monken said. "I anticipate that's he's going to be able to play. He's a tough guy, so I imagine he'll be ready to go for the game." Coleman passed for 129 yards and two interceptions and ran for 100 yards and a score on 24 carries.

Rushing touchdown in loss Coleman was 7-for-12 passing for 129 yards and two interceptions during Friday's 30-27 overtime defeat against Tarleton State. He also had 24 rushes for 100 yards with one touchdow...
Impact Coleman was a little shaky in his first start of the season, turning the ball over twice. His 100 yards on the ground did set a career high, as well as his seven completions and 12 pass attempts. He will look to bounce back next week against Kansas State.

Brad Larson makes game-winning FG and Tarleton State beats Army for second-ever win over an FBS team

Brad Larson kicks a 37-yard field goal in double overtime, giving Tarleton State a 30-27 win over Army on Friday night
AUGUST 30 • Associated Press
Wins starting gig Coleman has won the Army's starting quarterback job, Pete Thamel of ESPN reports.
Impact Having entered the spring as the Army's leading candidate to start at quarterback, Coleman in their QB1 role should not come off as a huge surprise. What the previous backup lacks in much game experience, he makes up for with promise. Coleman's 2024 season includes 11 completions for 121 yards and one touchdown without any interceptions. He also established some competence in the run game, with 38 carries for 136 yards and a rushing TD.
AUGUST 19 • ROTOWIRE
Leading candidate to start Coleman shined in the spring game, accounting for the longest scores of the day on a 58-yard run, Spectrum News 1 reports. Head coach Jeff Monken indicated after that Coleman has "...
Impact Coleman grabbed a start last season when Bryson Daily missed the Week 11 contest against Air Force due to injury, but he didn't do a ton with it, completing five of eight passes for 48 yards and rushing 16 times for just 42 yards. His 58-yard scamper in the spring game is encouraging, but Coleman doesn't appear to have a lock on the position at this juncture. Still, his experience put him in the driver's seat to claim the job heading into fall camp.
APRIL 14 • ROTOWIRE
Quiet in first start Coleman completed 5 of 8 passes for 48 yards during Saturday's 20-3 win against Air Force. He also had 16 rushes for 42 yards.
Impact Coleman took over the Black Knights' offense Saturday with starter Bryson Daily (undisclosed) out. Although Coleman was able to lead the team to a rivalry win, he did not light up the box score near as much as Daily had. He accounted for just 90 total yards as the focus of the offense shifted to Kanye Udoh. Daily's status for Saturday's game at North Texas is in question, so if he's unable to go Coleman would be set for another start.
NOVEMBER 3, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Will start Saturday Coleman will start Saturday's game versus Air Force, Chris Low of ESPN.com reports.
Impact Coleman has played sparingly over the past two seasons, but he'll be counted on to keep the Black Knights' record clean Saturday. Bryson Daily (undisclosed) has been unable to practice this week and will be sidelined for Saturday's tilt. Coleman enters the day 6-of-8 passing for 73 yards and a touchdown while rushing 22 times for 94 yards and another score.
