Leaving the 412 Davis (lower body) will enter the transfer portal, he announced via his personal X account.

Impact Davis was shut down for the 2025 season all the way back in July, and so he should be able to secure a medical redshirt with one year of eligibility remaining. However, that one additional year won't come with the Panthers, as he'll seek a new program and his third total after he started his career at LSU.

Impact Davis has officially been ruled out for the entire 2025 football season. With his absence, another back will need to step into the backup role to support starter Desmond Reid. Despite the injury, the senior will remain involved with the team in a coaching capacity.

Continuing recovery from injury Davis (lower body) is continuing to work through his recovery from a serious lower body injury suffered last season, per Dominic Campbell of SI.com.

Impact Davis suffered the injury during last year's game against Boston College and missed all of Pitt's spring practices as a result. The 6-foot running back is continuing his recovery but will be questionable to return in time for fall camp. Prior to the injury, Davis ran for 70 yards and a pair of touchdowns on 27 attempts last season. His health status will be worth monitoring as fall camp draws closer.

Impact Campbell suffered a lower-body injury late into Pittsburgh's 2024 season. It is unfortunate he suffered said injury late and even worse off that the problems continue to linger. Ideally for Campbell, the summer and fall will sing a different tune concerning Davis' lower-body health, but that is far from guaranteed for the time being.

Impact Davis' lower-body injury caused him to sit out the six-overtime bowl game Pittsburgh and Toledo logged Thursday. Ideally, the spring clears his injury status, but he will have plenty of time to return before he can partake in what should be his fifth season as an FBS player.

Impact Davis Jr. failed to do much with his five carries, a performance that likely now his him behind top ball-carrier Desmond Reid as well as backup Daniel Carter. Reid is the clear top dog in the Panthers' backfield, but Davis Jr. should continue to see carries here and there, albeit sparingly.

Permanently shifts to backfield Davis said during Tuesday's press conference that he's going to play running back in his first season at Pittsburgh, Noah Hiles of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

Impact Davis, a reserve safety at LSU across the previous two campaigns, was forced to temporarily fill in at running back for two games last year when the Tigers' were depleted at the position. He's since found a new home at Pittsburgh where he'll primarily operate as a ball carrier. In Davis' two appearances as a running back, he accumulated 57 yards and a score on 11 carries.
