Snags late TD in shootout Carter gathered in 3 of 4 targets for 55 yards and one touchdown during Saturday's 48-45 overtime loss against Illinois.

Impact Carter logged exactly three receptions for the fourth game in a row. His final snag in Saturday's game came on a 26-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Brendan Sorsby to tie the game with just under 30 seconds remaining. Carter has now accumulated two touchdowns and 210 receiving yards over the last four weeks, though the vast majority of this production has come off two touchdown receptions of 90 and 26 yards in Weeks 9 and 11, respectively. Nevertheless, the boost in Indiana's passing offense since Sorsby took over should leave Carter with some considerable upside heading into this coming Saturday's matchup against Michigan State.

Impact Carter recorded over 31 receiving yards for the first time this season, as he connected on all three passes from starting quarterback Brendan Sorsby (13-for-19 passing, 269 yards). The Fordham transfer only caught seven of his 20 targets over the previous four games, and he appeared to benefit from an uncharacteristic performance by the Nittany Lions defense, which gave up numerous big plays to the Hoosiers. This included a 90-yard touchdown catch for Carter midway through the first quarter. His production will more than likely regress to the mean against Wisconsin in Week 10.
