Released from hospital after injury Burks was carted off the field and taken to a local hospital after suffering a neck injury during Monday's loss to LSU in the Citrus Bowl, Casey Bartley of Rivals reports.

Impact Burks hit his head hard on the turf late in the fourth quarter. He was then stabilized on a stretcher as a precautionary measure for a potential spinal injury, as Purdue coach Brian Brohm said that the wideout had "some tenderness in the neck area," according to Tom Dienhart of On3.com. Burks was then taken to a local hospital where all medical scans came back negative for any structural damage, and he was discharged later that same day. With the nature and severity of this issue still unclear, it will be worth monitoring Burks' status heading into spring camp for further clarity on his situation.
