Leaving Indiana for health reasons Ellis has decided to step away from the Hoosiers for health reasons, The Herald Bulletin, reports.

Impact Ellis, a senior running back is leaving Indiana after enduring ankle injuries that kept him out of all but eight games over the last two seasons. Ellis showed real promise as a freshman in 2019, with 28 kick returns for 579 yards. It is unclear whether or not Ellis will transfer to another school, but it is certainly a possibility.

Limited during spring ball Ellis (ankle) will be a limited participant during spring ball, Dustin Dopirak of The Indianapolis Star reports.

Impact Ellis underwent season-ending ankle surgery in October after appearing just briefly during the 2021 campaign and has not completely recovered in time for a full spring session. When back to full health, Ellis is expected to be used as a dual-threat weapon as a runner and a receiver in 2022.

Impact Ellis was deemed a game-time call for the opener but was ultimately held on the sidelines in what turned out to be a one-sided affair in the loss to Iowa. His return should provide some added flexibility to the offense given Ellis' ability to contribute both as running back and as a receiver, which he's expected to do this season.
