Danny Scudero News, Rumors, Updates - Colorado Buffaloes

Deemed unavailable for Saturday Scudero (ankle) won't suit up for Saturday's matchup versus Arizona State, per the Big 12 availability report.

Impact Scudero will miss his seventh straight game on Saturday against the Sun Devils because of an ankle injury. The wide receiver has appeared in just two games this season, registering six catches for 25 yards on eight targets.

Spotted on crutches Scudero (ankle) was spotted in a boot and on crutches Saturday, Eli Whitney of BuffZone reports.

Impact Scudero hasn't played since Week 2, and given that he was spotted on crutches, he might be a few weeks away from returning to the field in a best-case scenario. In his two appearances this season, Scudero racked up six catches for 25 yards on eight targets.

Out for Week 7 Scudero (ankle) is out for Saturday's game against Utah.

Impact Scudero is set to miss his fourth consecutive game, having last appeared in Week 2 against Weber State. The wideout was aiming to replicate the success he had at San Jose State within the Buffaloes' offense this season, but an ankle injury has halted his momentum. His next chance to play is in a Week 8 matchup against Oklahoma State.

OCTOBER 14 • ROTOWIRE

May not be able to return in Week 7 Scudero (ankle) may not be able to return in Week 7 against Utah, per Brian Howell of the Boulder Daily Camera.

Impact Scudero reportedly re-aggravated the ankle injury that's forced him to miss three straight games already, and the wideout could be trending towards making it four Saturday against the Utes. Scudero, who caught six passes for 25 yards and notched two carries for 14 yards in two games, is firmly questionable for Week 7.

Re-aggravates previous injury Scudero (ankle) re-aggravated his previous ankle injury and has missed the last three games for Colorado due to the issue, per Leo Rivera IV of On3.com.

Impact Scudero suffered an ankle injury during fall camp and reportedly re-aggravated the issue, causing him to miss the last three games for Colorado. The 5-foot-9 senior had caught six passes for 25 scoreless yards through two games prior to going down this season. He will be hoping to get back on the field soon, with his next opportunity coming against Utah on Saturday.

OCTOBER 11 • ROTOWIRE

Out for Week 5 Scudero (undisclosed) is out for Saturday's game against Texas Tech.

Impact For the early part of the 2026 season, Scudero will have sat out more games than he has played, with Week 5 marking his third absence out of a possible five games. Fortunately for the wide receiver, an upcoming bye week gives him extra rest to prepare for Colorado's next matchup, scheduled for Oct. 17 against Utah.

SEPTEMBER 30 • ROTOWIRE

Ruled out vs. Baylor Scudero (undisclosed) is out for Saturday's game at Baylor.

Impact Scudero missed the Week 3 blowout loss to Northwestern, and he wasn't expected to be available for Week 4, so his absence isn't exactly surprising. He's had just six catches for 25 yards on eight targets in his lone two appearances of 2026. With Scudero out, look for Quentin Gibson, Quanell Farrakhan and Kam Perry to see more snaps in the passing attack.

SEPTEMBER 23 • ROTOWIRE

Not expected to play in Week 4 Scudero (undisclosed) isn't expected to be able to suit up for Colorado in Week 4 at Baylor, per Brian Howell of the Boulder Daily Camera.

Impact Scudero missed the Week 3 blowout loss to Northwestern, and he'd had a hard time getting going in this offense before that with just six catches for 25 yards through two games. He looked primed to miss his second straight game, and he'll look to return in Week 5 against Texas Tech.

SEPTEMBER 22 • ROTOWIRE

Won't play vs. Northwestern Scudero (undisclosed) is out for Saturday's game against Northwestern, BuffStampede reports.

Impact Scudero was initially listed as a game-time call Saturday because he wasn't expected to be healthy enough to play in this contest, and that's been the case. Not having Scudero is huge for the Buffs, with the wideout having six catches (on eight targets) for 25 yards in 2026. Scudero's absence means Kam Perry and Quentin Gibson are slated to see more targets in the passing game.

Question mark for Week 3 Scudero (undisclosed) may not be healthy enough to play in Week 3 at Northwestern, per Scott Procter of DNVR Sports.

Impact It's unclear what Scudero is dealing with, but the receiver is now a question mark for the Buffaloes' clash with Northwestern in Week 3. The San Jose State transfer has just six catches for 25 yards through two games this fall, with two carries for 14 yards as well.

Quiet in opener Scudero caught four passes for 12 yards during Thursday's 14-13 win over Georgia Tech.

Impact Scudero was a game-time decision heading into Thursday's opener due to a foot injury, and ended up being healthy enough to play. It was a quiet opener for the San Jose State transfer as he only gained 12 yards on his team-high four catches. In fairness, the entire passing attack struggled against the Yellowjackets' defense, so there's plenty of room for Scudero to improve. He showed how productive he can be last season where he caught 88 passes for 1,297 yards and 10 touchdowns with the Spartans.

SEPTEMBER 4 • ROTOWIRE

Part of starting offense Scudero (foot) was part of Colorado's opening offense to begin Thursday's game against Georgia Tech, per Tyler King of The Denver Gazette.

Impact Scudero was seen warming up in full uniform before the game, signaling that he was potentially good to go, and now his presence on the field confirms he is fully healthy. The transfer wideout's foot seems to be bothering him no more, which is a huge relief for the Buffaloes' offense moving forward.

SEPTEMBER 3 • ROTOWIRE

Dressed and warming Thursday Scudero (foot) is dressed and warming up ahead of Thursday's game at Georgia Tech, Scott Procter of DNVR Sports reports.

Impact Scudero, who is considered a game-time decision for Thursday's contest, is in uniform and warming up ahead of the season opener. His foot injury did not appear to be limiting his movement and he is not wearing any sort of brace. It does not confirm his availability for the game, but it's certainly a good sign that he will play.

SEPTEMBER 3 • ROTOWIRE

Game-time decision Thursday Scudero (foot) is a game-time decision for Thursday's game at Georgia Tech, Pete Nakos of On3.com reports.

Impact Scudero's status for Thursday's opener is up in the air less than two hours before kickoff. He's been dealing with a foot injury this offseason and was seen in a boot at the beginning of August. Last week, he was spotted in practice but was wearing a non-contact jersey. His participation in warmups will be worth watching as the San Jose State transfer hopes to make his season debut.

SEPTEMBER 3 • ROTOWIRE

Returns to practice Scudero (foot) is practicing once again for Colorado and is wearing a yellow non-contact jersey, DNVR Buffs reports.

Impact Scudero was able to return to practice with some limitations after being seen wearing a boot earlier in August, a positive sign for his availability in Week 1. The wideout is expected to play against Georgia Tech, and his return to the practice field indicates he remains on track to do so. Scudero aims to reach full health prior to the seaon opener and lead the Buffaloes' receiving corps.

Expected to play Week 1 Scudero (foot) is expected to play at Georgia Tech on Sept. 3, James Carnes of USA Today reports.

Impact Earlier in the week, Scudero was wearing a protective boot for an apparent foot injury. Following multiple days of speculation on his availability, Colorado's head coach Deion Sanders set the record straight, saying his top wideout is progressing from his lower-body injury and is "most certainly" expected to play Week 1. This is a welcome development for the Buffaloes, who will begin their regular season with a relatively tougher game by facing ACC stalwart Georgia Tech.

Spotted wearing boot Scudero was seen wearing a boot due to an undisclosed injury, and it's unclear if he'll be ready for the start of the 2026 season, according to Brian Howell of On3.com.

Impact The nature and extent of the injury are uncertain, so it's unclear whether the star wideout will be available to suit up when Colorado opens its season against Georgia Tech on Sep. 3. There are signs of optimism regarding the wideout's ability to play in Week 1, but his progression in the coming weeks will ultimately determine his availability. Scudero had a career-best season in 2025 at San Diego State, making 88 catches for 1,297 yards and 10 touchdowns. If healthy, he should be the Buffs' WR1.

Emerging as leader for Buffs Scudero is emerging as a leader in Colorado's wide receiver room, per Buffzone.

Impact This doesn't come as much of a surprise. The wideout broke out last season at San Jose State, reeling in 88 catches for 1,297 yards and 10 touchdowns. Scudero came to Boulder with tons of experience and production, and he's set to likely be the top receiver for Colorado. Expect big production from the receiver this fall.
