Chris Henry Jr. News, Rumors, Updates - Ohio State Buckeyes

Makes sole reception count Henry reeled in their only target for 75 yards and one touchdown during Saturday's 59-3 win over Kent State.

Impact Henry made the most of his only reception, a 75-yard TD romp from backup Luke Fahey. Henry showed a lot of promise in camp, but the freshman hasn't moved up to the first unit yet. He'll appear in four-and-five-receiver sets, which will limit his impact.

Not expected to start Henry is not expected to be one of Ohio State's starting wide receivers to begin the 2026 season, per Pete Nakos of On3.com.

Impact Henry has been competing with Devin McCuin throughout the Buckeyes' fall camp and is seemingly losing the battle for the No. 3 role, as McCuin is expected to start to begin the season. The true freshman still has plenty of time to make a statement for why he deserves the starting spot, but he is still very young and has time to earn the role throughout the season. Ohio State's wide receiver room is full of talent, and it's impressive that Henry has competed well as fall camp is halfway through.

Working with first-team offense Henry has been taking first-team reps in the first week of fall camp, according to Brianna Mac Kay of The Columbus Dispatch.

Impact Jeremiah Smith and Brandon Inniss are set as starters, but Henry is one of three new Ohio State receivers who have seen first-team snaps this preseason alongside Brock Boyd and UTSA transfer Devin McCuin. Henry will have the chance to get on the field throughout the season, but the next few weeks will be key to determine whether he's a WR3 or a depth option.
