Impact A lot of Iowa State's 2025 players are following their head coach, Matt Campbell, to Penn State, and Sowell is no exception. For the Cyclones, he logged 500 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Impact Sowell had a productive year with Iowa State after two strong seasons with East Carolina. The 6-foot-3, 210-pound wideout caught 32 passes for 500 yards and two scores this season. Now, with one season of eligibility and plenty of production to his name, Sowell should get plenty of attention in the transfer portal this winter.

It was a windy day at Oklahoma State, so that's why there wasn't a lot of offensive production through the air for the Cyclones. The number one wideout for Iowa State has 32 catches (on 62 targets) for 500 yards and two touchdowns. Iowa State will finish the year in a bowl game.

Impact Sowell led the way for the Cyclones with a team-high eight targets. Iowa State's passing game has struggled in 2025 as Sowell has dealt with drops and QB Rocco Becht has been inaccurate. Becht has nine interceptions over his last seven games and has struggled to find his groove. On the season, Sowell has 26 catches (on 53 targets) for 386 yards and a touchdown. With Iowa State's defense struggling of late, Sowell could continue this pace and be more productive in the second half of the season. Iowa State will play at Colorado next week.

While younger receivers did produce the touchdowns for Iowa State, there wasn't a lot of passing production in general in the game. It's expected that Sowell will be much more involved against South Dakota next week.
