Returning against NC State Texas Tech coach Joey McGuire said Townsend will return for Saturday's game versus NC State, Don Williams of the Lubbock Avalance-Journal reports.

Impact Townsend has yet to play so far in 2021. However, the senior wideout should be set to make his season debut this Saturday.

Returns to practice Tuesday Townsend returned to practice Tuesday, but was not involved in contact drills, Don Williams of Lubbock Avalanche-Journal reports.

Impact Townsend has officially made his return to the practice field, though the player was off-limits to contact, sporting a golden jersey. The 6-foot-0 wide receiver is currently listed behind several Red Raider receivers, including Nehemiah Martinez, Brady Boyd and Trey Cleveland. Townsend's return to the practice is an encouraging sign as the team prepares for Murray State on Sept 3.
