Expected to play in bowl game Edwards (transfer portal) is expected to play in Saturday's Fenway Bowl against Army, John Pierson of WTNH-TV reports.

Impact Edwards is expected to play in the bowl game despite having entered the MCAA Transfer Portal. The 5-foot-11 running back was a crucial contributor on offense for the Huskies and will aim to make an impact on his last game for the program. He totaled over 1,300 yards and 15 touchdowns in 12 games.

Impact Edwards was UConn's starting tailback for the past two seasons, and he's coming off a career year. He ran for 1,132 yards and 14 touchdowns on 5.7 yards per carry this fall, also catching 19 passes for 186 yards and a score. The workhorse halfback should have plenty of big-time programs after him, and he'll have one year of eligibility remaining.

In nine games he has a career best 815 rushing yards and nine touchdowns. Edwards might have a tough time on the ground against Duke on Saturday, Nov. 8. The Blue Devils defense is in the top 50 against the run while the Duke defense against the pass is near the bottom in the nation.

In the season opener, the Syracuse defense gave up 248 rushing yards and a pair of rushing touchdowns against Tennessee.
