Impact It was previously announced that the former Colorado State quarterback had departed the program, and unsurprisingly, he'll now look for a new program by way of the portal. Fowler-Nicolosi started 2025 as the Rams' starter, but he was benched due to poor play after tossing for 488 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions on 53.7 percent completion over three games. With head coach Jay Norvell also fired, the Rams are staring down a vast re-tooling of their roster regardless.

Impact Fowler-Nicolosi, who was benched for Jackson Brousseau in Week 5, carries a questionable designation heading into Week 7. The 6-foot-2 junior, who struggled in Colorado State's first three games, is worth monitoring given Brousseau hasn't run away with the starting job in his two starts under center.

Not starting Week 5 Fowler-Nicolosi will not be starting Saturday's game against Washington State, Mike Brohard of CSURams.com reports.

Impact Fowler-Nicolosi did not impress in Week 4, completing 56.0 percent of 25 pass attempts for 176 yards and zero turnovers. He also logged six carries for minus-19 yards. In his place again is Jackson Brousseau, and Fowler-Nicolosi will have to wait for the former to potentially struggle for another shot under center. Will start Week 4 Fowler-Nicolosi will be the Rams' starting quarterback Saturday against UTSA, Kevin Lytle of the Fort Collins Coloradoan reports.

Impact Despite previous struggles, it will be Fowler-Nicolosi who starts under center for the Rams again in Week 4, over Jackson Brousseau. The former has shown occasional promise by logging a touchdown in each of the Rams' first two games this season. However, his last appearance saw him log more turnovers (two) than touchdowns (one), which is why he and Brosseau were in a quarterback competition this week. Fowler-Nicolosi will look to step his game up, or else he loses his QB1 role.

Competing for QB1 reps Fowler-Nicolosi and Jackson Brousseau are competing for QB1 reps this week, Kevin Lytle of the Fort Collins Coloradoan reports.

It marked Fowler-Nicolosi's second straight start, and he struggled both times, logging a 52.6 completion percentage for 312 yards and a 1-2 TD-INT ratio. Brosseau winning QB1 snaps would tank Fowler-Nicolosi's 2025 upside, so the latter will have to establish some consistency in practice going into Week 4 against UTSA.
