Impact Woodson is set to make his second career start after Blake Horvath was ruled out due to an upper-body injury. Woodson beat ECU in his previous start in the 2024 season. In three games this season, the junior signal-caller has completed four of eight passes for 49 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions.

Impact Woodson scored his third rushing touchdown of the season this week. After recording 180 rushing yards and two touchdowns in Week 1 against VMI, the junior hasn't played much since, as he still only touched the ball twice Saturday.

Impact Woodson made the most of his opportunity Saturday, setting a career high in rushing yards. His performance was highlighted by a 74-yard touchdown run at the start of the third quarter, and the Midshipmen now know they have a very capable backup in case anything happens to Blake Horvath.

Impact Woodson started his first game of the season Friday with star Blake Horvath (back) out. Woodson played very well, notably through the air as he attempted 19 passes -- more than all but one of Horvath's games -- and threw for 165 yards and a touchdown. He was also very productive on the ground, highlighted by his two touchdown runs in the span of a minute in the fourth quarter. Horvath's status for the Dec. 14 clash at Army is in question, but Woodson proved that he could produce in his absence.

Impact Blake Horvath (back) is out, so the Navy needs to select a starting quarterback between Woodson and Jackson Gutierrez. According to McMurphy, Woodson is the favorite despite his struggles in relief of Horvath back in Week 13. He completed 30 percent of 10 passes for 13 yards and a 0-1 TD-INT ratio.

Impact Woodson entered the game in the first quarter after star quarterback Blake Horvath (back/ribs) left with an injury. Woodson failed to get the offense going as he accounted for just 37 total yards and committed two turnovers. Horvath has nearly two weeks to get back healthy, but if he is unable to go Nov. 29 at East Carolina, Woodson would likely be the starter.

Impact Woodson took over the Midshipmen offense after Xavier Arline (ankle) left the game, and played fairly well. He led the team in rushing with 104 yards, the majority of which came on a 69-yard rushing touchdown in the third quarter. Arline has two weeks to recover before the Army game on Dec. 9, but if he is unable to go Woodson could be in line to start that massive rivalry game.
