Steps in for injured starter Locke was 13-for-26 passing for 125 yards and one touchdown during Saturday's 42-10 defeat to Alabama. Impact Locke replaced injured starting quarterback Tyler Van Dyke, who was carted to the locker room early in the first quarter with an unspecified lower body injury. This was not the first time that the Badgers' QB2 had to step up in a pinch, as he also started three games last year when Tanner Mordecai was sidelined with injury. However, this starting experience didn't do Locke much good Saturday, as he often looked overwhelmed versus the Crimson Tide's dominating defensive front. Badgers coach Luke Fickell said postgame that "it doesn't look good" for Van Dyke, who is slated to undergo an MRI, according to him. As a result, Locke should be set to take over the starting moving forward once again. Wisconsin will have a week off before traveling to USC on Sept. 28.
