Heading to Palo Alto Gulbranson has committed to play for Stanford for the 2025-25 season, per Pete Nakos of On3.com.

Impact Gulbranson will join the Cardinal following three seasons with Oregon State. The 6-foot-3 signal caller appeared in just five games for the Beavers in 2024, throwing for 943 yards and four touchdowns to four interceptions. He will retain a single year of eligibility with Stanford.

The quarterback, who figures to have two seasons of eligibility remaining, will now seek greener pastures and a program where he has a legitimate chance to see the field.

Gulbranson finished the season, completing 78-of-128 for 943 yards and four touchdowns. He also threw four interceptions.

He matched his top mark in 2022 against California with three total touchdowns. Gulbranson will try to get Oregon State bowl eligible on Friday (Nov. 29) and pull off another upset against Boise State. The junior could again set a personal best against the Broncos whose defense is near the bottom in the country against the pass, allowing an average of 261 yards in the air per game.

Impact This comes as little surprise, as it was reported earlier on Saturday that Gullbranson was expected to be the starter for the Beavers. Now it's official, and he'll get his second start of the 2024 campaign after tossing for 292 yards, no touchdowns and two interceptions against San Jose State back in Week 11.

Impact Gulbranson won't start for the Beavers, meaning Oregon State will now go two straight weeks with a new starting quarterback. Who that will be has yet to be announced, but the candidates are Gevani McCoy and Gabarri Johnson.

Impact Gulbranson's first start since 2022 could not put points on the board with the passing game. The yardage was there, but the junior threw a pair of interceptions and was sacked three times. Gulbranson took over for junior Gerald McCoy the previous contest against California (44-7 defeat) on Oct. 26. If Culbranson is under center in the next game against Air Force (Nov. 16), he might have a tougher time throwing the ball against the Falcons defense who are in the top 25 in the country against the pass. On the other hand Air Force defense is at the bottom in the country against the run.
