Impact The wideout played just seven snaps in the Orange Bowl victory over Penn State that punched the Irish' ticket to the national title game. Still, he's reportedly ramping up in practice and should be much more involved against Ohio State on Monday night.

Questionable for title game Collins (calf) is questionable for Notre Dame's title game tilt with Ohio State, Tyler Horka of On3.com reports.

Impact Collins only played seven snaps in the Orange Bowl against Penn State, but he has yet to miss a game this season. The wideout caught 37 passes for 438 yards and three touchdowns in his senior year after spending the previous three seasons with Clemson. His absence would be a big loss for the Irish.

Impact Collins seems to have suffered a calf strain during or right after Notre Dame defeated Penn State in the College Football Playoff semi-final. It would not be surprising if it is the former, considering he was limited in said game. Collins will be questionable as the Fighting Irish prepare for their championship game against Ohio State on Jan. 20.

Impact The 37-yard touchdown catch in the third quarter was only the senior's second this season. The Clemson transfer's other touchdown came against Miami-Ohio (Sept. 21). With a strong final four games in the regular season, Collins could register career bests.

The wideout has 16 grabs for 176 yards and a score through four games, and he's quickly become one of Riley Leonard's favorite targets.

In the early going Collins is slightly ahead of teammates, Jaden Greathouse and Kris Mitchell, as the go to receiver. The Notre Dame offense is still trying to find its rhythm with Duke transfer quarterback Riley Leonard.

Impact The senior has a great shot at finishing his college career on a high note. Most of the Notre Dame receivers departed from last season's team, leaving an opening for Collins. The senior receiver might be tested this Saturday (Sept. 7) in the Irish home opener against Northern Illinois. The Huskies were seventh in the nation against the pass in 2023.

With that output level logged for a nationally-known football program like Clemson, Collins should have no problem garnering interest from all sorts of teams.
