Sitkowski began his career at Rutgers in 2018 and started 11 games as a true freshman, but he fell out of favor soon thereafter. He went on to appear in seven games (four starts) over the subsequent two years before moving on to Illinois ahead of the 2021 season. SItkowski mostly served as a backup during his time at Illinois and wraps up his five-year collegiate career with a 54 percent completion rate for 2,838 yards, 14 touchdowns and 23 interceptions over 26 appearances.
