Signs with James Madison Maiden will transfer to James Madison, the program announced.

Impact Maiden spent his first two seasons at Memphis, and in 2025, he completed 5-of-10 passes for 59 yards. Now, he'll have three years of eligibility remaining at James Madison, where he'll look to earn the starting quarterback gig in Harrisonburg.

Impact Maiden, a redshirt freshman, will seek a change of scenery after two years at Memphis. The quarterback played sparingly in 2025, completing 5-of-8 passes for 59 yards with 68 yards rushing and a touchdown on the ground as well. With three seasons of eligibility remaining, he'll look for a program where he can immediately compete for the starting gig.

Replaces the injured Brendon Lewis Maiden was four of six passing for 51 yards during Friday's 38-32 defeat against Tulane. He also had five rushes for 35 yards with one touchdown.

Impact Maiden was called upon in a key spot Friday night after Brendon Lewis left the game with an injury. Even though the Tigers couldn't pull out the win, the freshman played well, recording a rushing touchdown, and will likely be counted on next week if Lewis can't go.

Impact Even though Memphis' spring game saw Maiden standing out, the Tigers have a much more proven option under center in Brendon Lewis, and they will go that route. The former will have to hope for backup duties, though AJ Hill will provide competition on that front.

Impact Maiden was the only Tigers' quarterback to throw a touchdown, and they were both reportedly spectacular plays -- one was a 40-yarder and one was a 60-yarder. He also seemed to display good command of the offense, repeatedly orchestrating long drives. He's competing with Brendon Lewis and AJ Hill for the starting gunslinger gig in Memphis, and this performance at the culmination of spring practice will be big for Maiden's pursuit of the job.
