Impact Simpkins had notched three straight double-digit scoring outings, but was rather cold from the floor against Rutgers and only posted seven points. It was something of an off night for the senior guard, who averages 12.6 points this season and has been a consistently good scorer for the Ducks. He'll look to return to form Thursday against Ohio State.

Impact Simpkins was held completely in check in the Dec. 17 win over Portland, but the guard bounced back with 13 points on 50 percent both from the field and from distance as Oregon fell at the hands of a very good Gonzaga team. The starting guard has improved his efficiency since transferring over from Elon, but remains rather hot-and-cold: he's scored as many as 20 points but has also failed to surpass five points in four games this season.

Impact Simpkins will take his talents to the Big Ten Conference following a standout season with Elon. The 6-foot-4 junior appeared in 27 games during his time with the Pheonix (24 starts), averaging 16.4 points, 3.1 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.1 steals on 29.8 minutes per game. Simpkins, who shot 36.7 percent from range this past season (5.9 attempts per game), will look to carve out a role with the Ducks next fall.

Impact Simpkins enrolled at Elon again for his 2024-25 season. But after its relatively quick conclusion, he will use the NCAA's transfer portal again. Simpkins has one year of collegiate eligibility remaining. Before using two years for Elon, he used one with Northwest Florida State College.
