Out for season
Sorber (foot) is out for the 2024-25 Hoyas' remaining season, according to their X account.
Impact
Sorber's left foot suffered its injury when the Hoyas and Butler logged their mid-February game. The freshman will undergo surgery Wednesday. Even though Sorber is expected to physically recover, he requires more than the 2024-25 Hoyas' remaining season. The center's 24 games (23 starts) include 14.5 points, 8.5 rebounds and 2.0 blocks averaged.

Impact
Sorber will miss his second game of the season and his first since Jan. 17 with a foot injury. The starting center, who averages 14.5 points, 8.5 rebounds and 2.4 assists, is a big loss for the Hoyas. He'll get his next chance to suit up on Feb. 23 against Creighton.

Suffers lower-leg injury
Sorber (lower leg) exited Saturday's 97-86 loss against Butler with a lower-leg injury, Ben Jakabcsin of GeorgetownVoice.com reports.
Impact
Sorber left Saturday's loss against the Bulldogs late in the first half after suffering an apparent lower-leg injury while defending a drive to the hoop by Finley Bizjack. The 6-foot-10 freshman has been putting up an incredible first-year campaign for the Hoyas, averaging 14.5 points, 8.5 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 1.5 steals and two blocks across 24 games (23 starts). The severity of his injury and his outlook moving forward remains uncertain at this time.

Stellar line in defeat
Sorber recorded 25 points (10-17 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 3-3 FT), 15 rebounds, two assists, three blocks and two steals across 40 minutes during Saturday's 78-68 loss to Providence.
Impact
Sorber returned from a one-game absence Monday and recorded a double-double, but Saturday was quite possibly his best individual effort of the year. The freshman set a new career-best rebounding total while matching his career high in scoring, which was originally set all the way back on Nov. 9. Coach Ed Cooley clearly has something special in the 6-10 freshman, and while the Hoyas have lost five of six to fall to 4-5 in Big East play, the future is certainly looking brighter.

Injury revealed, game-time decision
Sorber (elbow) is a game-time decision for Georgetown's game Monday at Villanova, according to Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports.
Impact
Previously undisclosed, Sorber's injury is an elbow problem still affecting him as the Georgetown team prepares for its next game. Sorber is averaging 14.2 points, 8.6 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 2.5 blocks and 1.3 steals for the Hoyas this season. Having him available will simplify their quest to end a losing streak that increased to four games without him.

Out Friday
Sorber (undisclosed) is out for Friday's game against DePaul, 247Sports.com reports.
Impact
The extent of the injury is uncertain, but missing Sorber is a huge blow for the Hoyas' interior game on both ends of the court. His next chance to suit up will come against Villanova on Monday. This means Drew Fielder and Caleb Williams will play in the frontcourt Friday.

Five blocks in loss to Marquette
Sorber registered 11 points (3-5 FG, 5-5 FT), 13 rebounds, three assists, five blocks and one steal over 35 minutes during Tuesday's 74-66 loss to Marquette.
Impact
Sorber has made a huge impact with the Hoyas so far this season even in his first collegiate season, and the matchup against Marquette was no different even in the eventual loss. The 6-foot-10 center dropped his fifth double-double of the season, and second in the last three games. He also put together five blocks, acting as a huge hinderance for driving guards Stevie Mitchell and Kam Jones in the paint. Sorber is now averaging 15.1 points, 8.4 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 1.3 steals and 2.3 blocks on 30.1 minutes across 15 games this season.
