Impact Jones reportedly "looks good," according to head coach Shaka Smart. The guard is still working on conditioning and the mental aspect of things, but he appears to be ramping up his participation. Jones, who has yet to play this season, averaged 5.8 points, 1.5 rebounds and 2.0 assists across 16 games last season.

Impact The team has been relatively quiet on a prospective return for Jones, who was growing into one of Marquette's top reserves and a solid ball handler before tearing his ACL in January. Impact Despite it being almost half a year since Jones personally suffered an ACL tear, him not being at 100 percent physically is far from reassuring. However, it is worth noting that the severity of Jones' injury was expected to cause a long-term absence, which would have been more than six months. Also, four months remain before Marquette's 2024-25 season begins, giving him at least a good chunk of time to recover.
