Dylan Grant - Bounce-back game in loss
Grant accumulated 11 points (4-7 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 2-2 FT), four rebounds, one block and two steals in 34 minutes before fouling out of Tuesday's 88-79 OT loss to Michigan State.
Impact
Grant was coming off his first start in three games, but he was hardly involved in Rutgers' Jan. 23 loss to Indiana, suppling three points across 12 minutes. The sophomore forward managed to get back into the swing of things despite the loss to the Spartans, as he was efficient from the field and pulled down his most rebounds since Dec. 29. Grant had his inconsistencies as a starter, but he still averaged 13.5 points and 5.3 rebounds in his first stint in the starting five this season. If he can find his groove again, Grant could be a viable option for fantasy managers once more.

Kaden Powers - Ice cold in loss
Powers supplied zero points (0-5 FG, 0-4 3Pt), one rebound and three assists in 10 minutes during Tuesday's 88-79 OT loss to Michigan State.
Impact
Powers started his seventh consecutive game for the Scarlet Knights, and it was easily his worst start of the season. He failed to hit a shot or get to the free throw line, and while he dished out three assists, that was just about the extent of his production. There will be nights like this for the freshman, just now getting his first taste of starting in the Big Ten. He'll look to bounce back in a trip to Los Angeles to take on both USC and UCLA this weekend.

Gevonte Ware - Logs DNP
Ware (undisclosed) did not appear in Tuesday's 88-79 overtime loss to Michigan State.
Impact
Ware was listed as questionable for a second straight game, and he didn't play for a second straight game. The freshman center hasn't appeared in a game since Dec. 13, but he's not a big part of the rotation even when healthy.

Baye Fall - Undergoes surgery
Fall (hand) underwent surgery and will be sidelined for an extended period of time, according to Brian Fonseca of NJ.com.
Impact
Head coach Steve Pikiell revealed the injury is likely long-term, and it's unclear whether Fall will return this season. Rutgers will continue to rely on starter Emmanuel Ogbole and backup Bryce Dortch to man the majority of the minutes at center with Fall sidelined.

Gevonte Ware - Doesn't play Friday
Ware (undisclosed) didn't play Friday against Michigan State.
Impact
Ware was listed as questionable for this contest, but he didn't play, meaning he's now missed nine games in a row. His next chance to play will come against Michigan State on Tuesday, Jan. 27.

Gevonte Ware - Question mark vs. Hoosiers
Ware (undisclosed) is questionable against Indiana on Friday.
Impact
Ware has missed the last eight games for the Scarlet Knights, but supposedly has a shot to return Friday night at home against Indiana. The freshman center averages just 6.0 minutes per game in the six games he's played this year.

Tariq Francis - Productive in sixth-man role
Francis amassed 15 points (4-12 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 5-6 FT), three rebounds and one assist across 25 minutes before fouling out of Tuesday's 68-62 loss to Iowa.
Impact
Despite coming off the bench since late-December, Francis has been one of the few consistent offensive options for the Scarlet Knights. Since that move became essentially permanent, the junior transfer from NJIT has averaged 20.8 ppg over an eight-game stretch that includes three efforts of 30 or more. He's taken nearly 15 shots per game through that run and converting them at a success rate of 44.5 percent. Rutgers is essentially in a rebuilding year with a 9-10 record on the season and 2-6 mark in Big Ten play, but Francis has more than shown he can be a reliable fantasy option that carries a high ceiling for any given game.

ROTOWIRE
Darren Buchanan Jr. - Supplies 17 in defeat
Buchanan ended Tuesday's 68-62 loss to Iowa with 17 points (5-8 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 6-7 FT), three rebounds, one block and one steal in 31 minutes.
Impact
Buchanan has played well since entering the starting five for Rutgers over the past three games. In that time, he's averaging 13.0 points and 6.7 rebounds while shooting 44.4 percent from the field. The forward was held in check as a rebounder against Iowa, which certainly contributed to the defeat, and he was also held without an assist for the first time since Dec. 6. Still, the move to the starting five appears to be paying dividends for the junior, and he'll look to keep it going Friday against Indiana.

ROTOWIRE
Emmanuel Ogbole - Supplies 10 boards off bench
Ogbole supplied eight points (3-3 FG, 2-4 FT), 10 rebounds, one assist and two blocks over 27 minutes during Tuesday's 68-62 loss to Iowa.
Impact
Ogbole has come off the bench for the last three games for the Scarlet Knights, a move that makes sense considering he was averaging just 4.9 points and 6.8 rebounds as a starter. Still, he's out-performed Bryce Dortch, who's taken his place in the starting five. Ogbole remains a strong rebounder, and though he's not a scoring machine, he takes smart shots and is shooting 57 percent from the field this season on 3.4 attempts per game. It hasn't been the smoothest season for Ogbole, but quite honestly, he's the least of Rutgers' problems at the moment.

ROTOWIRE
Jamichael Davis - Blanked in loss
Davis posted zero points (0-4 FG, 0-2 3Pt), three rebounds, one assist, one block and one steal in 18 minutes during Tuesday's 68-62 loss to Iowa.
Impact
Davis was held scoreless for the third time this season, and given that he offered very little outside of scoring for Rutgers, he doesn't look that appealing from a fantasy standpoint. Though his 7.5 points, 2.9 rebounds and 2.6 assists this season are all career bests, the junior guard has simply been too inconsistent this season to be counted on by fantasy managers.
JANUARY 21
•
ROTOWIRE
Bryce Dortch - Offers nothing in third start
Dortch accumulated one rebound in 13 minutes during Tuesday's 68-62 loss to Iowa.
Impact
Dortch has started the last three games to Rutgers, but hasn't brought much to the table in that span. He didn't even attempt a shot across 13 minutes in the loss to Iowa, and notched one rebound with one turnover. At this point in the forward's career, he's bringing very little to the Scarlet Knights' starting five.
