GAME LOG

Out six-to-eight weeks Waters is out six-to-eight weeks due to a foot injury, per Mark Zeigler of The San Diego Union-Tribune.
Impact Waters was diagnosed with a navicular stress fracture in his right foot that will keep him out for at least six weeks, potentially longer than eight too. The injury explains why he did not participate in San Diego State's preseason exhibition against UCLA. For now, the plan is to have Waters wear a protective boot for five weeks and re-evaluate thereafter, hoping one week or just a little over than that is all it takes to get him cleared. Currently, the earliest he can play is a Dec. 7 game against San Diego, after sitting out six games in November and another matchup in December at Fresno State.

Impressive outing off the bench Waters closed Tuesday's 68-63 loss to Utah State with 11 points (4-8 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT), three rebounds and three assists across 26 minutes.
Impact Waters helped San Diego State stay afloat during Tuesday's loss, finishing as the Aztecs' second-leading scorer with 17 points while shooting an efficient 50 percent from the field and 100 percent from the free-throw line. The 6-foot-6 junior was able to break out of a recent shooting slump as well, posting 10-plus points for the first time in the Aztecs' last four contests. Expect San Diego State's second-leading scorer (11.2 points per game) to continue supplying points as the team takes on Fresno State on Feb. 24.

Used as substitute Waters (ankle) logged four points (2-6 FG, 0-1 3Pt), three rebounds and two assists across his 22 minutes during San Diego State's 72-61 win Saturday against UNLV.
Impact It marked only the second time San Diego State's team used Waters as a substitute. Like the first time, he did not play relatively well, scoring only four points on two field goals with more than five attempts. Ideally for Waters, he returns to San Diego State's starting lineup, in which the junior has thrived with averages of 14.0 points and 3.9 rebounds.

Game-time decision Saturday Dixon-Waters (ankle) is a game-time decision for the Aztecs' game Saturday against UNLV, according to Jon Schaeffer of XTRA 1360.
Impact According to Mark Zeigler of the San Diego Union-Tribune, Dixon-Waters rolled one of his ankles while warming up for the Aztecs' game Wednesday against Fresno State. He logged 10 minutes before bailing out of their matchup early. So now, Waters' availability will be a game-time decision prior to them playing again but against UNLV.

Logs first career double-double Dixon-Waters totaled 11 points (3-7 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 4-4 FT), 12 rebounds, one assist and one steal over 35 minutes during Saturday's 63-62 victory over UC Irvine.
Impact In his first year with the Aztecs after three seasons at USC, Dixon-Waters has excelled as a regular starter in his new home, despite playing with a slower-tempo system. His 14.1 ppg scoring average is the second-best mark on the team after Jaedon LeDee (22.8 ppg), who sat out Saturday with an undisclosed injury. LeDee's absence opened up more opportunities on the glass, and DIxon-Waters took advantage, posting a career-best rebounding total to go along with his first career double-double.

Added to transfer portal Dixon-Waters was added to the NCAA's transfer portal Wednesday, VerbalCommits.com reports.
Impact Unsurprisingly, Dixon-Waters was a substitute during USC's only game of March Madness 2023. He logged 10 points (4-11 FG, 2-4 3Pt) and four rebounds across the tournament matchup. Wanting to be enrolled in a university whose basketball program can have him frequently part of its starting lineup, he will begin considering other schools.

Not starting Dixon-Waters is not in the starting lineup for Thursday's game against Arizona State, Shotgun Spratling of 247Sports.com reports.
Impact Dixon-Waters was inserted into the starting lineup last week but will return to his usual spot off the bench with Tre White moving back into the first five. Dixon-Waters had been battling an illness earlier in the week but was seen warming up and should be a factor even if he ends up being slightly limited.

Expected to play Dixon-Waters (illness) is expected to be good to play in Thursday's quarterfinal matchup against the Sun Devils, Ryan Kartje of the Los Angeles Times reports.
Impact Dixon-Waters was reportedly under the weather earlier in the week and was unable to partake in practice. The 6-5 sophomore expects to be available to contribute but it seems unlikely he'll remain in the starting lineup after being added to the first five for the regular season finale. Dixon-Waters has been a solid contributor throughout the course of the year, averaging 9.5 points and 3.1 rebounds over 25.1 minutes per contest.

Did not practice Dixon-Waters did not practice on Tuesday because of an illness, according to Adam Grosbard of The Orange County Register.
Impact A physical illness prevented Dixon-Waters from practicing two days before USC's quarterfinal game of the 2023 Pac-12 Tournament. He has at least one day to recover before USC plays either Oregon State or Arizona State, teams playing each other in the tourney's first round Wednesday.

Plays just 24 minutes in start Dixon-Waters racked up three points (0-3 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 3-4 FT), four rebounds and one steal over 24 minutes during Saturday's 68-65 victory over Arizona State.
Impact Dixon-Waters was promoted into the starting lineup after scoring 17 points and six boards on 7-of-15 shooting off the bench in Thursday's loss to Arizona. However, the 6-foot-5 sophomore wound up logging his second-fewest points and field-goal attempts of any game this season during Saturday's regular-season finale. Dixon-Waters finishes the 2022-23 regular season averaging 9.5 points, 3.1 rebounds and 1.1 assists while playing 25.1 minutes per game across 27 appearances. It's unclear if he'll continue to move up into the starting lineup when USC plays its first game in the Pac-12 Conference Tournament on Thursday.

Impact Dixon-Waters returned following his four-game absence due to a foot injury. The 6-foot-5 sophomore was also able to match his second-most extensive playing time since moving to a role off the bench near late November. In 16 games off the bench this season, Dixon-Waters has averaged 9.4 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.7 assists while playing 23.7 minutes per contest. His next game will come Thursday against Colorado.

Will play against Stanford Dixon-Waters (foot) is available for Saturday's game against Stanford, Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports reports.
Impact The return of Dixon-Waters will give USC a nice boost in terms of depth, as the sophomore guard had missed the team's last four games. A consistent performer off the bench in most games, Dixon-Waters is averaging a career-best 9.1 points per game across 22 games (seven starts) this season.

Impact Dixon-Waters was unable to suit up last Saturday versus Washington and will miss a second straight game. A firm timeline for his return has yet to be established by head coach Andy Enfield.
