Impact After being a promising part of Butler's 2020-21 roster, Tate did not play much during his sophomore and junior seasons. He averaged fewer than 10.0 minutes both campaigns. So as a senior, Tate wants to be enrolled in a school whose program will give him better opportunities.

Impact Tate is a tough-shot taker and dynamic offensive threat. His lack of utilization is an intriguing storyline for Butler. However, with Chuck Harris struggling (two points, 0-4 FG) Tate was leaned on for his largest workload of the season. Tate averaged just 7.0 minutes per game across 22 appearances this season.

Impact Tate finished with a modest stat line, but the junior brought sparkplug energy to the court. His 16 minutes marked a season high, and it's possible coach Thad Matta turns to Tate more often with a postseason run looking unlikely for Butler.

Impact Despite being probable when Butler hosted Providence on Dec. 29, Tate did not play that day. He returned during the Bulldogs' first game of 2023. Fantasy managers should expect him to continue being a backup who is not valued much. Tate averaged 8.4 minutes in between Nov. 7 and Dec. 3, when he played his last game before the illness.
