Granted eligibility Messina-Moore has been granted a preliminary injunction in Ohio which gives him eligibility for the 2026-27 season, Pete Nakos of On3.com reports.

Impact Messina-Moore will be eligible to play in a fifth collegiate season as a result of this court ruling. He started all 33 games for Xavier this past season, averaging 10.9 points, 3.0 rebounds and 3.8 assists across 33.2 minutes per game. He already entered the transfer portal in April, and the injunction also opens a special transfer portal window for Messina-Moore to transfer to a new school.

Impact Messina-Moore used up his collegiate eligibility, so the senior logging an additional season requires NCAA permission. Prior to Xavier, both Pepperdine and Montana utilized him.

Impact Messina-Moore had one of his best performances of the season Wednesday, and it came in the Musketeers' biggest game of the campaign so far. He scored 18 points while shooting over 50 percent from the field, hitting two three-pointers and dishing out three assists in the process. He also did not commit a turnover for the eighth time this season, making this one of his cleanest outings of the season. Next up he faces a difficult matchup versus UConn in the quarterfinal Thursday, a team he averaged 13.0 points, 1.0 rebound and 2.5 assists per game against this season.

Impact Coming off a two-game stretch where he totaled just eight points, Messina-Moore bounced back Tuesday with 12 points. He shot fairly well from the field and hit two triples. The main downside to his performance was his four turnovers though, his fourth game this season with four or more. He'll look to clean that up in the regular season finale Saturday at Villanova.

Impact Messina-Moore scored 15 points in Tuesday's overtime loss, but it was not all smooth sailing to get there. He hit just five of his 15 field goal attempts and missed all three of his attempts from beyond the arc. He's now shooting just 30.8 percent from the field over his last four contests, a rough run of form for the senior. He made up for it a bit Tuesday as he chipped in seven assists and five rebounds, but he desperately needs to break out of this shooting slump.

Impact Messina-Moore, who scored just two points and turned the ball over four times in his last appearance, bounced back with a solid 13 points Saturday. It was a return to his usual form as prior to his two-point outing on Wednesday he had scored double digit points in nine consecutive games. Since the start of Big East play, he's averaging 14.8 points, 2.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.5 steals in 35.6 minutes per game, an excellent run of form after a very quiet start to the season.

Impact Messina-Moore had been dealing with an injury of some sort and was questionable leading up to the contest. He will now look to make an impact for Xavier as he has averaged 10.7 points, 2.8 rebounds and 4.0 assists on 31.6 minutes across 18 starts this year.

Impact Messina-Moore led the Musketeers Wednesday with a season-high 22 points, but it was not enough to secure the conference win. He had a chance to win the game at the buzzer, but his long running shot did not hit the mark. It was his fifth straight game with at least 14 points, and he also recorded a season-high in steals (five) and three-pointers made (four). His performance was not without faults though as he turned the ball over a career-high five times, a tough pill to swallow in a one-point loss.

Although he's producing well as a passer so far this season (4.1 assists per game), his lack of consistent scoring output limits his ceiling as a fantasy asset.

Given the game ended up being so close he played nearly the entire game, giving an insight into what Xavier's rotation could look like in more competitive matchups. It was a solid individual performance from Messina-Moore, but the close win over an inferior opponent is somewhat concerning for the team.
