Receives waiver, eligible for 2021 Cooper was granted a waiver by the NCAA on Wednesday and is eligible for the 2021-22 season, Jeff Borzello of ESPN.com reports.

Impact Cooper transferred to Tennessee State during the offseason after a one-year stint with Western Kentucky where he averaged 2.6 points, 1.8 assists and 1.3 rebounds per game. He and fellow transfer Dedric Boyd, who also received a waiver, are immediately eligible to play for their new team in 2021.

Impact Cooper missed two straight games against Louisiana Tech but returned off the bench and made the most of the few minutes he saw. Given the fact he was a starter in every single game before the injury, Copper might find himself back in the starting lineup for Sunday's game at Marshall.

Impact Cooper hadn't taken the floor in either of the previous two games by coach's decision, so it was at least a good sign that he was able to join the action. Unfortunately, he departed not too long into the game and it remains to be seen if he will be able to return.
