Out indefinitely Starling (hand) will remain out indefinitely after suffering a left-hand injury at practice Monday, Jeff Goodman of TheFieldof68.com reports.

Impact Starling will be sidelined for an indefinite period of time after suffering a left-hand injury of unknown severity at practice Monday. The 6-foot-4 junior, whose absence will start against Tennessee on Tuesday, started in each of Syracuse's first six games, averaging 19.8 points, 4.5 rebounds and three assists. In Starling's absence, Elijah Moore and Lucas Taylor will likely be called upon to play fill larger roles with the Orange moving forward.

Impact Starling surpassed the 25-point mark for the second time this season, and the junior guard remains one of the best scoring threats in the entire ACC. He's averaging 21.4 points per contest through his first five outings.

Impact Starling led the way for Syracuse in the scoring column, but his efforts weren't enough to avoid a tight four-point loss to the Longhorns. Starling has been Syracuse's best player this season, at least from a scoring perspective. He's averaging 20.0 points per contest in his first four outings in 2024-25, although those numbers are a bit inflated due to the 38-point effort he delivered in the win over Youngstown State on Nov. 16.

Impact Starling had one of the best individual performances in the current 2024-25 season, and his contributions were pivotal as Syracuse got past Youngstown State after two overtime periods. Starling has scored in double digits in each of his three outings this season. Even though he's not going to hover around the 30-point mark every game, he should be one of Syracuse's most consistent offensive forces if he stays healthy.

Impact Starling went through a major slump in December and early January, but he has bounced back in recent weeks, and he's been putting up solid numbers of late, hitting double digits in nine consecutive appearances. During that span, Starling is averaging 18.4 points per game while shooting 51.2 percent from the field and 38.1 percent from three-point range.
