Joining the Bulldogs
Heidbreder has announced his commitment to Fresno State, Jeff Borzello of ESPN.com reports.
Impact
Heidbreder will make the move to Fresno State following a one-year stint with Clemson. The 6-foot-6 junior, who broke out with Air Force, appeared in 32 games with the Tigers, averaging 4.1 points, 1.2 rebounds, 0.8 assists and 0.6 steals on 14 minutes per game. Heidbreder, who shot 37.3 percent from three this past season (2.3 attempts per game), will look to seize control of a premier role with Fresno State next season.

Enters transfer portal
Heidbreder entered the NCAA's transfer portal Thursday, Verbal Commits reports.
Impact
Usually, NCAA juniors enter its transfer portal aiming to maximize their senior year's upside. Heidbreder is no exception, especially considering he already used his redshirt.

Solid off bench
Heidbreder totaled 14 points (4-7 FG, 4-7 3Pt, 2-2 FT), one rebound, two assists and one steal over 24 minutes during Wednesday's 83-68 victory over Notre Dame.
Impact
Heidbreder has been a key reserve all season for a ranked Clemson team, but his production has been inconsistent at best. Wednesday was his second-best scoring total of the year, though it was his first game since Jan. 7 in double figures. On the year, he's seeing less than half the minutes he did in his last full season -- the 2022-23 campaign with Air Force -- resulting in statistical dips across the board.

Redshirting 2023-24 season
Heidbreder is redshirting Clemson's 2023-24 season, according to Faxon Childress of The ROAR.
Impact
Perhaps because the Tigers overstocked players after falling short of March Madness 2023, Heidbreder will redshirt their upcoming season. However, the redshirt could be a blessing in disguise, considering the 2023-24 Tigers' starting perimeter is expected to be all redshirt seniors who will have no more eligibility after 2024. Heidbreder can also have a year to hone his skill set and replicate his output from the Air Force.

Enters transfer portal
Heidbreder entered the transfer portal Tuesday, VerbalCommits.com reports.
Impact
Heidbreder is now set to play elsewhere throughout the 2023-24 season following his two-year stint at Air Force. Across his first two seasons of collegiate ball, the 6-foot-5 guard started all 61 games and averaged 12.8 points and 3.3 rebounds per game in that span, so he'll likely have a solid shot at joining a power-five program as a junior.

Season-high 40 minutes played
Heidbreder provided 17 points (6-10 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 2-2 FT), five rebounds and seven assists over 40 minutes during Tuesday's 74-69 loss to Fresno State.
Impact
The sophomore was the Falcons leading scorer in Tuesday's loss to Fresno State, logging 17 points on 60 percent shooting from the field. Expect Heidbreder to continue to be the primary scorer for Air Force as he currently leads the team with 14.8 points per game.
