Impact Ripp played his first game of the season against Long Beach State, and was largely quiet over 21 minutes off the bench, supplying just four points, one board and one assist. Still, it's good to see the freshman forward take the court for the first time in his career, and he should continue to earn minutes off the bench moving forward.

Impact Ripp hasn't played in a game this season. He suffered an ankle injury during an exhibition game against San Diego State in late October. He averaged 15.2 minutes per game last season but played in just five outings due to an apparent injury. His next chance to play will come Sunday at Long Beach State.

Impact Ripp returned to action on Wednesday from an undisclosed injury but suffered what appeared to be an ankle sprain in the second half against the Aztecs before being helped off the floor. It's a tough break for the 6-foot-7 forward who appeared in just five games for the Toreros last season while dealing with various injuries. The details and severity of his new ailment are thus far unknown, but his status for Tuesday's season opener is certainly in question.

Impact Ripp didn't stand out with his cameo off the bench, but at least he managed to see the floor in the team's final exhibition tune-up. This means he should be available to face Idaho State on Nov. 7 in San Diego's regular-season opener.
