Marcis Ponder - Double-double in collegiate debut Ponder ended with 15 points (5-6 FG, 5-7 FT), 11 rebounds and one block across 20 minutes during Monday's 113-69 win over Florida A&M.
Impact Ponder is an absolute beast on the interior at 7-foot and 285 pounds. It's hard for many to match that kind of size on the inside. The freshman has really been the starter at center from Day 1 for this Florida State team. He posted a 21-rebound game in an exhibition contest against Auburn and now has a double-double to begin the regular season. Ponder will look to keep stacking numbers on Friday against Troy and then his first real test will be next week against Florida and that stout frontcourt of the Gators.

AJ Swinton - Suspended indefinitely Swinton (knee) has been suspended indefinitely for a "violation of team rules," per Matt LaSerre of On3.
Impact Swinton was still recovering from a torn ACL he suffered towards the end of last season, but now the junior forward is also suspended indefinitely for currently undisclosed reasons. Last season, he averaged 4.5 points and 1.8 rebounds off the bench for the Seminoles, and he figured to play a similar rotational role this season.

Alex Steen - Granted eligibility Steen has been granted immediate eligibility to play for Florida State, per Matt LaSerre of Warchant.com.
Impact Steen was awaiting his eligibility ruling, and now the center has officially been granted a fifth year through a preliminary injunction. That's big for the Seminoles, as last season in Tallahassee he averaged 6.8 points and 5.8 rebounds while starting 29 of 32 games.

Sebastian Rancik - 14 points in exhibition Rancik (concussion) scored 14 points (1-9 FG, 1-4 3P, 11-13 FT) to go along with three rebounds and two assists during Wednesday's 82-71 exhibition victory over Auburn.
Impact Rancik was previously dealing with a concussion but was cleared to participate in Wednesday's exhibition game, leading the team with 30 minutes played. While he scored 14 points, it was a rough shooting night for the 6-foot-11 forward, as he shot just 1-for-9 from the floor on the night. Rancik will get another opportunity in an exhibition matchup against LSU on October 24 before the official start of the 2026-27 season.

Impact Steen will not be an option in the Seminoles' frontcourt for the time being, as he continues to work through eligibility issues. The 6-foot-9 forward was a common starter with Florida State in 2025-26, starting 29 of 32 games while averaging 6.8 points and 5.8 rebounds across 19.8 minutes per contest. He is seeking a temporary restraining order for a fifth season, and if he is granted one, he should carve out a role similar to last year.

Impact Lopez was unable to suit up for Florida State's exhibition Wednesday as he fulfills his wide receiver duties with the Seminoles' football team. The 6-foot dual-sport athlete is not expected to join the basketball team until December, or presumably until the conclusion of the football season.

Impact Swinton continues to recover after he was unable to take the court in Florida State's exhibition opener against Auburn on Wednesday.
